Last Sunday, I read the papers, and I’ve seen a huge ad, with an unbranded, unnamed shampoo bottle with a big question mark in it, calling it the Mystery Shampoo. Last week, I’ve seen two bloggers blog about it taking the 14-day Challenge, taking a leap of faith on testing a hair product that they don’t know what it is. Well, what is the Mystery Shampoo?
Tried by 150 million across 14 countries, it’s the No.1 shampoo brand, worldwide. You try, you decide.
I was able to receive a few small bottles of the Mystery Shampoo ( and a small bottle of conditioner ) to try, and the bottles, at first look, were really familiar. The packaging is exactly like something that I’d see in grocery shelves, a brand very much familiar to the Filipino people. But I could be wrong. I don’t know the marketing strategy of the company behind it, if they’d like to border on the obvious, or let us in a wild surprise.
With my hair very much stiff and tangled from my steroids application due to my scalp allergy, I decided to try it today. The scent reminds me so much of the cucumber melon variant of beauty products, and I love the light, sweet scent that doesn’t scream synthetic. After rinsing, my hair felt moderately soft, and without using a comb, finger-combing proved to be very easy with the tangle-free feel. Wow, this must be good. For the moisture factor, I haven’t experienced anything wow at the moment, but I’m willing to try it for another week to see if this can be good for my hair.
Well, have you tried the Mystery Shampoo? I think they’re giving away sample packs! and, I’d like to know, what brand do you think is the “mystery shampoo?”
Have a great morning!

Hi Sophie – I find the marketing strategy funny. I’ve seen the “mystery shampoo” in its new packaging on the shelves of Watsons as of last week I think (shampoos and conditioners). It looks a lot like their Japan packaging – by the way, you must try the Japan hair mask from this brand (the one with the flip top). It’s really good – better than the blue Cream Silk and Elseve (at least it was for me)
hmm… pantene maybe?
Hi Jane!
Well, I would have to agree with you! Haha but if our guesses are correct, I do have the limited edition tub of the masque that you are talking about. It’s very good, but I would have to say that the new Elseve that Anne Curtis is endorsing is very promising as well, as I like the masque very much! ( a post, to update on that
)
patawa naman, i already bought two big bottles of this mystery shampoo haha!
cge na nga kunwari hindi pa natin alam! hahaha
its Ponds for sure.
I signed up for the samples but haven’t gotten them yet… if this mystery shampoo can tame my impossible hair I’ll buy a lifetime supply. :p
Hey Shobs… I signed up for this but I haven’t got the samples yet! I think I should just buy it off the shelf right?
I have no idea regarding the sample availability, but I do hope that they’d do it soon since it’s almost August 1! haha
Head and Shoulders? They’re pretty quiet these days unlike the other leading brands who have new commercials lately.
i’m sure that’s pantene..
i’m sure that’s pantene..:)
