We’ve all seen this on TV, with Reese Witherspoon in the Avon Smooth Minerals Lipstick commercial. The commercial shows pots of beautiful crushed mineral powders that were used to make Avon Smooth Mineral Lipsticks.
Introducing Avon’s first ever 100% natural lipstick that provides luminous color that is naturally gentle on the lips. Avon Smooth Minerals Lipstick contains Mega Moisture Complex of nurturing shea butter and conditioning oils to keep lips smooth and soft. Its exclusive mineral complex helps out bring out the lips’ vibrancy. It is fragrance free, dye free, preservative free enriched with vitamins and with SPF 15 to protect the lips.
Here are swatches of some Avon Smooth Mineral Lipstick shades :

L-R : Rose Quartz, Raspberry,Plum Craze, Apricot Glow, Rose Brown
Aside from the shades I am reviewing, Avon Smooth Mineral Lipsticks are available in 10 shades :
• Pink Quartz
• Pinkberry
• Rose Garnet
• Rumberry
• Plum Craze
• Brick Red
• Cranberry
• Apricot Glow
• Crystal Coral
• Rosy Brown
Individual swatches of my pick shades :

Pink Quartz is a lovely milky pink, but I’m afraid that the color payoff is very very sheer. This is perfect for teenagers who are starting to build their first makeup kit. The color is really innocent, youthful, and just proper enough for school and casual strolls at the mall!

Plum Craze is a really great, everyday shade. It is very similar to MAC’s cult favorite shade, Cosmo, but this is less red, and more pale. It’s pink brown, but the pink is pale here. Very wearable!

Cranberry is a reddish pink that would make your lips look just luscious and kissable. This is a pink-red shade that screams oh so fresh!

Apricot Glow is light peach with shimmers in it. It’s peach-gold. Light shades are often hardest to pull off, so for those who have very pigmented lips, or even very dry lips, this is a sheer shade that won’t completely cover your natural lip color to make way for a solid layer of this beautiful color.

Rose Brown is one of those more serious colors. It’s reddish brown, and it’s a more mature shade of red thats not flaming hot, but more formal. For those who want to try red lipsticks but are still too afraid of the bolder shades, this is a good shade to start!
What I love most about Avon Smooth Mineral Lipsticks is how I get color on my lips minus the tight feeling. Alot of lipsticks in the market offer great coverage, but in turn, really dry up the lips, and make the lips plus lip color flake like hell. With Avon Smooth Mineral Lipsticks, color is moderate (not totally full coverage), but it feels like you’re wearing a rich lip balm that sticks on your lips with generous color.
The color payoff is good, but not in the sense that it would cover your lips fully with color, that it would cover your natural lip color. The shimmer really reminds me of multi-purpose mineral powders, and the effect is very similar to when I use my lipbalm to grab some lip-color-worthy multi-purpose minerals and swiping it on my lips. True enough, this is mineral makeup ( or crushed mineral pigments ) added with a moisturizing lip base to come up with a relatively more natural Avon lipstick.
Notice on how uneven my application was with the Avon Smooth Minerals Lipstick? Take a look at my lips with some parts with really dark shades, and some with really light ones. It’s because Avon Smooth Minerals Lipstick is supposed to give you natural looking lips, and this is not meant to be built up so much to give you an opaque layer of product. ( I tried, but I really can’t! )
Overall, Avon Smooth Mineral Lipsticks are great for those looking for a good, everyday shade that would give them ample moisture on the lips, without them necessarily sliding off that fast. It’s like wearing lipbalm in a stick, with added natural-looking lip color with a some shimmer to plump up the lips!
*Avon Smooth Minerals Lipsticks can be bought from your local Avon distributor, retailing for P 375.00
