Just this year, I was acquainted with two brands of Dead Sea Skin Care brands that were launched here – Mineral Flowers and AHAVA. But tell you what – it doesn’t end there. We have another brand to look into – Jericho, by Paloma Dead Sea Ltd.
Paloma Dead Sea was the first company that was established offering Dead Sea skin care products, as early as 1982. Imagine that, it took us so long to catch the wave of the dead sea skin care craze! The miraculous and healing waters of the Dead Sea in Israel is now within our reach with these products in the market, as we do not have to take the trip there to experience it. That’s more like it!
With this, I was able to try two products by Jericho, and I shall tell you how they fared on me :

The first product that I’ve tried was Jericho’s Dead Sea Black Mud Soap. It promises to cleanse the skin without stripping skin’s natural moisture barriers, as well as relieve body acne and cellulite. With that, I’ve decided to include it in my bath routine as my body cleanser.
Trying it, the soap was good and lathery, and it gave me the squeaky clean feel, minus the tightness of skin associated with really clean skin. Sometimes, we want our skin as clean as possible and abuse the soap to lather much to say byebye to the sticky feel associated with warm weather, but when we try to feel our skin, it might smell and feel fresh, but it’s tight, threatening our skin to dryness. With this, it makes me feel like my skin is really clean, but there was also subtle moisture infused in my skin that prevented it from being tight. It doesn’t have any fragrance into it – so those who are not fans of fragrance might rejoice and try this one out. As for its claims of getting rid of cellulites and acne, I can only speak about its effect on body acne for now. Admittedly, I have body acne, and it’s one of those curses that you’d wish never had, but still have one more thing to worry about ( oh well ). At first, it purges and makes your body acne worse ( okay, gently put, they pop out ), as it draws them all out before the cleansing begins. With natural ingredients, the healing does not happen overnight, but a gradual one. I am still in the “healing process” though I hope the wait is worth it that would make the results permanent as my body acne would go away. I am quite hopeful.

Another product from the Jericho Spa line that I’ve tried was the Energizing Salt Scrub with Dead Sea Minerals & Aromatic Oils. The dominant oil that was used in this product was the Kiwi Mango Oil. It’s basically dead sea minerals ( I’m guessing, from the water from the Dead Sea ), infused with very fragrant aromatic oils, with salt scrub. I found the scent of this product very elegant – nothing too strong, no trace of synthetic fragrance, in other words, it smelled of beautiful nature, and spa-ish.

I used this after cleaning my skin with the Jericho Dead Sea Black Mud Mud Soap, as I am not confident that oils can cleanse ( sorry, I’m just like that! ). The salt scrubs were definitely comforting on the skin as I knew they would slough off dead skin cells, and say goodbye to my dull, harassed skin from its normal wear and tear from being active everyday. It was a new experience using oils during bathtime, as I apply oil on my skin after bathtime, rather than during! I didn’t really remember how the oil felt on my skin during the bath, but what was more important was the after-bath feel. As I started toweling myself dry, it didn’t feel anything of squeaky-tight clean, but it was more of very soft skin, infused with so much moisture. I’m sure that those complaining of dry skin will get instant satisfaction with this!
I suggest using this product when you’re not too busy – perhaps you are going to spend your weekend at home, pampering, for this is oil and scrub, combined, that you wouldn’t want to use this when you’re geared for an active day outdoors. I feel that this is the perfect companion to relaxation as it leaves your skin soft, and smooth, leaving your skin perfect, with that comforting, intoxicating fragrance that would just lull you to sleep, as it leaves you satisfied with new, pampered skin.
With that, I am still impressed with Dead Sea Skin Care. Jericho by Paloma Dead Sea Cosmetics one company to look out for, for those organic product enthusiasts seeking their beauty fix.
These are only two products amongst the impressive product line of Jericho Cosmetics – they have so much more! uy! my friend is the marketing manager of Jericho will forward this to her
I purchased this product just because the kiosk manager…”Nitay” gave me a melting eye contact…and talked me into trying the products (salt scrub and facial cleanser). What I spent paid off though; the product is great, I wouldn’t mind spending again for other products to try–from Jericho Cosmetics, that is. =D
