A few weeks ago, I was invited to the awarding ceremony of Glutamax’s The New Me Contest by Nuffnang. With my really well-thought ( and reflected ) The New Me contest entry, I was keeping my fingers crossed, hoping to win the grand prize, which was the Apple Macbook. ( who woudn’t dream of winning this? haha! ). Well, to be honest, I wasn’t expecting so much anymore as I’ve read just about alot of great entries, that I dressed down as casual as I can to keep down the expectation.
As I walked in the venue, I didn’t expect it to be as crowded, and as…big! Alas, I was only wearing my favorite dress, with my Havaianas, and my eyes widened with the huge backdrop display that displayed…before and after pictures..that..included mine. I was in total shock that my BEFORE picture was displayed there. Que horror! Hahahaha! I just coped with eating their delicious catered food by Old Vine. Munched, munched, and hoped for the best.
Present during the event were hosts Mojo Jojo and DJ Suzy. Glutamax Endorser Jinky Oda also graced the event, showing off her glowing skin. Later during the event, Gretchen Barretto was revealed to be the latest endorser of Glutamax, having the tagline, “Kutis Mayaman.”
Well, I didn’t get to win the much coveted Macbook. My friend Jane did, which I thought was very much well deserved! I also got to meet the beautiful fashion and beauty blogger Lizz Buenaventura, who bagged fifth prize, winning a Nokia phone, and Jeffrey Aspacio bagged third prize, winning a Sony t70 camera. I didn’t get to talk to him, but quite remembered him for singing his specially composed song on stage ( and mentioning it later to Jen, his wife, as how I remembered his husband during another event. hahaha! ) Jonnie Anzures won the trip for two to Hongkong, second prize, but wasn’t present during the event. Congratulations!
I was able to bag the fourth prize, having a new, gorgeous silver Ipod Nano 8g. I’m all smiles as I got my prize, and just beamed because my story of rising above insecurities into inspiring people to rise above their problems has been recognized. More than that, I am just hoping that my story gets to inspire more people to live their dreams.

Well, that was quite a night. Despite the very hot weather, everyone was happy with the food, the programme, the celebrities, and of course, more than that, I think everyone was happy because they got to plant their own seeds of inspiration in cyberspace with their touching stories of transformation. Life is good.
