Beauty lovers getting their dose of water from the Dead Sea

If you ask me where I really, really want to go right now, I would have to say Israel.

Why?

The moment Mr. Kuba of Mineral Flowers let me try a drop of water from the Dead Sea, I was really, really fascinated.

It felt really oily, but he claimed that there is no trace of oil in that water. It’s just loaded with so much minerals. It felt sticky on the skin, but when mixed with hand cream, my skin turned baby-smooth, and that’s hardly possible, because I always have dry skin. It must be something special!
With that, I could almost feel myself floating on the Dead Sea, facing up, like I was on a luxurious vacation. My skin would also be on vacation mode there!

Renowned as a premium destination for health, rehabilitation, recreation and specialized spa treatments, the Dead Sea contains an extraordinary 345 grams of mineral salts per liter, with 26 different minerals and trace elements such as Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium and Bromide contained within its salts, water and mud.

With so much minerals, and even nourishing ingredients from the Dead Sea, Dead Sea skin care brands sprouted. They’re slowly emerging across the globe, and one of the brands that I have come across was Mineral Flowers.

Uri Ben Hur, plant-based product genius

Why the brand name Mineral Flowers?

Mineral Flowers is a new brand by acclaimed chemist Uri Ben Hur, who is responsible for the organic skin care brands Sea of Life™, Mineral Flowers, Spa Follies, Yes To Carrots, Yes To Tomatoes, Yes To Cucumbers, Yes to Eggplants, The Mud Man, Kids of Life, Lands of Life, Tree of Life and Sun of a Beach. With his new concept, he fuses dead sea minerals with flowers.

Uri Ben Hur also has a vision of having beautiful gardens in various parts of the world, thus, thus, his environmental advocacy called Gardens of Life. His first Garden of Life happens to be in the middle of the Negev Desert in Israel, which is the source for the flowers used in Mineral Flowers products.

Mr. Edward Chua of IMDS is the person responsible for bringing in Mineral Flowers here in Manila, as it is slowly being propagated around the world, with Sephora branches in Europe now with Mineral Flowers fully stocked!

Flowers in Three Variants

Mineral Flowers™ has a unique blend of natural concentrated mineral water with 35% of mineral and trace elements. Together with Dead Sea Mud, bee’s wax, fresh flowers, pomegranate juice and pomegranate peel, this formula works to enhance the moisture factor of the skin and its regeneration, and will help to reduce the signs of aging.

Mineral Flowers™ combines these unique minerals with nature’s best skincare wonders like microalgae (seaweed), antioxidants, vitamin-rich fruit and vegetable extracts and essentials oils.

The Mineral Flowers skin care line includes facial wash, day cream, night cream, facial wash-off mask, hand cream, body massage milk, body butter, and massage oil. With that, they come in three variants suited for each skin type :

Camomile for Sensitive Skin

Rose and Geranium for Normal and Combination Skin

Almond Blossom for Dry Skin

My Take on Mineral Flowers

I was able to try two products from Mineral flowers, namely their facial wash and their hand cream.

The Mineral Flowers Facial Wash in Rose and Geranium ( P 430.00 ) is a water-based facial wash gel. Yes, you heard it right. Gel. This variant is formulated for combination to oily skin, as it foams up to clean excess oil and dirt buildup during the day, but it doesn’t dry out the skin. Oily skinned gals will sing praises for this facial wash as you don’t see organic facial products that are water-based and oily and acne-prone skin friendly. It also smells tres heavenly, like a bouquet of red roses. With how great it worked for my skin ( take note, MY ever so problematic skin! ) , I have passed this on to my baby sister who’s hitting puberty as she needs a very gentle, but non-comedogenic facial wash, and recommended this to people who are dear to me ( male, and female! ).

Mineral Flowers Facial Wash in Rose and Geranium tops as one of the best facial cleansers that I have ever tried. This is a must-try. Promise.

I was also given the chance to try the Mineral Flowers Hand Cream in Camomile. What I love about this hand cream is that 1. it smells heavenly – a bit tarty, like a sweet flower and 2. it’s not greasy on the skin. With this hand cream feeling light on the skin, I also appreciate that it made my skin feel soft and smooth. The comfort smell makes it addictive to use, as I am glad to have it with me everywhere I go!

Well, for those who are curious about the price range of Mineral Flowers products, I’d say that they’re reasonably priced, and probably the most affordable amongst emerging Dead Sea skin care brands,
