I could only remember on how eccentric Cyndi Lauper was during the eighties that truly made her one of the music icons in her generation ( well, it is my generation too! ), having truly unforgettable songs such as Girls Just Want To Have Fun, True Colors ( which is fast becoming a classic ), and the immortal Time After Time ( my absolute favorite ). Oh, I so love her!

I’m just so happy that Cyndi Lauper was chosen by MAC to have a Viva Glam shade in her honor. For my homage to one of my favorite 80s singers ( oh how much of an 80s music junkie I am ) , here’s a look that I have come up with :

Oh hello there!

Seriously, this makeup didn’t do justice, as I didn’t go out. Again. I’ve been stuck in the office for months, and I haven’t had the chance to go partying, so I have no friends anymore. The friends I have left are my makeup stash. Hahaha! Kidding aside, I don’t know what’s gotten in me that I suddenly got inspired to do makeup looks. Good for me, for I need to practice what I’ve learned.

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick , in lustre formula, is a coral-red lipstick. It’s not screaming warm red at all, even though it’s described as “coral-red”. It’s not orangey at all, the warm undertone is just subtle as this shade goes on soft, and not too bright. This actually looks pinkish red to me. ( Strawberry-red, as Aileen calls it ) This is a really wearable reds for everyday that makes your lips look soft and naturally red, I love it. Not too screaming, just beautiful. My only gripe is that it’s warm, so it’s going to make my teeth look yellow. I can only wear this sheerly so as not to over emphasize the color of my teeth. I’m still surprised it went on nicely on my lips. So there, see, I’m pursing my lips. No teeth there. I actually applied alot of layers to make the color stand out. It’s really, really beautiful.

As for my eye makeup, I used MAC’s Spring Colour Forecast 4′s Quad 4. Big LOVE for that quad. What shades? All of them, plus some black eyeshadow that I picked up from my stash. It’s four-layered blending, plus Manila Paper ( shade in Quad 4 ) on the lid. Looks so formal eh? I wonder where I’ll be sporting this look. I need to go out soon.

How do you like it?

Oh hey, each lipstick will retail for at $14.00 ( hopefully around P 950 in Manila ) with 100% of the selling cost donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund. With two gorgeous colors, The Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lipstick, I encourage you to get both shades, sport these lovely shades, and get to help as well!

Personally, the Gaga because I love how it looks on my lips, and how it complements my skin. The Lauper is a lovely red-pink, just need to be easy on it because it can make the teeth look yellow. But it’s a heartbreakingly lovely shade that I’d love to use anytime :)

Sophie!!!!!!!! Lauper looks amazing on you :D I’m a sucker for coral or coral pinks (even if it makes my teeth look more yellow), even Strawberry pinks!!!
