I’m delirious with happiness as MAC includes the MAC Penultimate Brow Marker in its All Ages, All Races, All Sexes Collection. Really, this must be the “it” eyebrow pen!

I’ve suffered and tormented over-fussing to be able to draw the perfect brows last year, as I have even resorted to the use of eyeliner brush to draw brows from scratch. There was even one day wherein I sported my brows using the MAC Fluidline. I thought it looked too thick. Hahaha!

Being able to grab a sample of the MAC Penultimate Brow Marker was a real surprise for me. I thought it was another penultimate eyeliner, as I tried to apply a thin line on mom’s upper lids. With that, I began to notice that it was watery and it didn’t have any solid color. And it’s brown. Okay, there must be something wrong. I check the label and it says “Penultimate Brow Marker.” Ohh, right, it was something for the eyebrows! Excitement welled within me, as I adore liquid eyebrow colors. Remember the Make Up For Ever Eyebrow Corrector? I have three tubes of that. Hahaha!

Anyway, facing the mirror with my new “pen,”, I start drawing my eyebrows. My eyebrows are almost non-existent starting from the arch to the tail, so it is impossible for me to get decent shape from using a brow powder. Liquid’s really needed for those “bald spots.” ( I am shamefully admitting. Sniff. ) With the very precise tip of the Penultimate Brow Marker ( very much like a Chinese calligraphy pen ) , I was able to create a very defined arch and tail. It comes off as watery, so you would be needing a few strokes to get solid color. It’s actually an advantage that it looks watery as you start with a light color, then gradually build up as you are more confident with your strokes. Less room for error, if you ask me.

Here’s a drawing of an eyebrow that I have come up with, after repeated strokes. Notice on how soft the color brown is. It really turns out very natural on the brows, even if it’s liquid. And ask me about staying power – it.is.simply.amazing. This is the only brow product on earth ( yes, I am not exaggerrating ) that stayed on my eyebrows for the entire day. This definitely outlasted Make Up For Ever’s Brow Corrector, because even MUFE’s waterproof brow color can still be rubbed away whenever my skin’s impossibly oily. With this, rub or no rub, this stays. Yes, for real!

With this really natural color on the brows, some might find it too light, so another layer of eyebrow powder can add up some definition without compromising on natural-looking brows. After all, eyebrow powder really gives off that soft-focus and natural looking brows. One possible drawback for this amazing baby is that – well, it’s in pen form, and it can dry up when it wants to. I really wish that MAC could come up with something similar with Make Up For Ever’s Brow Corrector – keep it in a tube – and we get to use it whenever we want it!

I give this product two thumbs up for the precision that helps me create great eyebrows, specially when I need to draw ‘em!
