First things first, I think that Schwarzkopf is one of those hard to pronounce brands out there, which is as tricky as pronouncing worcestershire. So, let me teach you first, as Evelyn Oblea of Schwarzkopf pronounced it – “schwarch-kof.” There! Perfect! Hahaha!
A few weeks ago, I was able to try Schwarzkopf’s latest treatment, the Schwarzkopf ESSENSITY. As I walked in David’s For Rever in Podium, I didn’t know what to expect, not until their senior stylist, and Schwarzkopf ESSENSITY ambassador for David salons stylist extraordinaire Inno greeted me, and more than enthusiastically share to me what it was all about.
Take a look at these tibdits, and see if it’d make your eyes pop out, because my eyes twinkled as was informed of what ESSENSITY was!

All products contain natural ingredients and specifically chosen pure certified organic essences.

All ESSENSITY products are free from artificial fragrances, silicones, paraffins, and mineral oils and parabens.
The ESSENSITY treatment involves #1 – organic hair color , # 2- organic hair care, and #3 – organic hair styling. Take note that I mentioned the term organic here. Definitely music to my ears when I heard about it – muy natural, and definitely gentle enough even for the most damaged of hair. As an ingredient geek, I might include that “ectoin”, an ingredient widely used for skin care and sunblock, was used in ESSENSITY’s organic hair color product, to make it the first ammonia-free and fragrance-free product in the market. This just feels so familiar – the way I feel about mineral makeup, and my preference over it.
As an all-natural hair treatment, ESSENSITY’s hair coloring product will not make your hair look brilliantly bright, but it will further make your hair shine, in the most natural way. The effect is a soft-focus, natural looking beautiful hair! For those who have gray hair, it promises 90% gray coverage, as it blends to your gray hair naturally.
So, as for my story, Inno first recommended a good shade that would flatter my skin tone. As my skin is yellowish, he recommended to mix Teak medium ( a brown ) plus a hint of Autumn ( reddish tint ) to give me rosy cheeks. Very nice! As he applied ESSENSITY’s coloring product on my hair, he dared me to sniff and try to smell if there was anything – and nothing! I couldn’t smell a thing, and that impressed me already since I’ve been used to trying to ignore the chemical smell everytime I get my hair coloured! After around half an hour, my hair was rinsed, and it was time for the hair care product to be applied on my hair.
ESSENSITY’s Intense Curing Masque was applied on my hair to repair and replenish the inner cuticles of my hair, and after 5 minutes, the Replenishing Balm was also applied to fix my hair’s texture ( looking at it individually ). I smelled fruity, as the magic ingredient used in Essensity’s hair care treatments were Goji Berry, a powerful antioxidant that is very well known for anti-aging and overall health. When it was time for my hair to be rinsed, I felt it to be soft, and still smelling yummy!
Fast forward, to my amazing new haircut ( thanks Inno! ) and as my hair was blow-dried, I saw my hair with this nice, subtle reddish tint, with no trace of hair color smell whatsoever, feeling soft, and smooth. My hair looked lustrous but natural, and it was very soft focus. I totally love it! I would totally go back to this salon , have my hair cut, and have a repeat Essensity treatment!
ESSENSITY is very much recommended for those who want gentle hair coloring without the potential hair damage involved. It’s great for those who have stressed, battered, and damaged hair from chemical treatments, for those who have had chemical treatments like hair rebonding or perming, and for those who are “hair color virgins” and who are afraid to take the plunge because they are afraid their hair would be never be the same again. This is also more than perfect for those who have gray hair and need to color their hair often, like me. Trust me, ESSENSITY will not only maintain your hair’s status quo, it will replenish, and revive your hair into its beautiful glory!

any of their product good for curly hair? i think my hair is uber dry huhu
i have this dumb,dry,curly hair…i dont want to loose my curls…i want my hair to be soft and moisturize..what can you recommend me?
just keep on using conditioner to be soft and moisturized – try essensity conditioners, then just style them with mousse or styling products to keep the bounce
this brand is hella good, i’m using the BC hairtherapy moisture spray conditioner. it makes my hair really smooth, i love it. :[]
