Playing With Makeup : Getting Casual and Captivating!

Jennica by DEI

Playing with makeup is just so much fun – the inner artist is unleashed, while adding some polish to that face that gains you confidence to smile, and face the day feeling confident, and beautiful! Thus, I am starting my Playing With Makeup series – tips on what makeup to apply on given occasions.

First, I am going to tackle applying makeup for everyday, or going out. For those who have jobs at the mall, those who love going to the mall, or just going out for lunch, or dinner, makeup can be worn in such a way that it wouldn’t look overdone, or too overpowering. Makeup for casual occasions is supposed to be light, and refreshing.

Thus, here are some tips for that casual, and captivating makeup, accompanied with images of casual fashion by DEI Direct Sales, a proudly Filipino Direct Sales Company that has really interesting, and very, very affordable fashion wear! Continue reading

What’s New : NARS Cleansing Oil!

Great skin begins with a radiant canvas, entirely free of any makeup residue. This technically advanced formula is the first, and most important step in the cleansing process. The weightless, silky solution eliminates makeup traces and flushes out pores, prepping the skin for cleansing. Excess oil coating the skin surface is obliterated, and clarity is visibly improved. Unlike most facial oils, NARS Makeup Cleansing Oil can be applied with wet or dry hands, and rinses off effortlessly with zero residue. Both gentle and effective enough to use on the eyes and lips.

Beautynomics Review : MAC In Hi-Def

High definition, high definition. HD, HD, HD. It’s all the buzz nowadays, as beauty goes on the same speed as technology does – going hand in hand with HDTV cameras, and televisions, makeup evolves into a higher level – much, much finer, and much, much more deceiving. Faking an au naturelle, perfect look is definitely harder than just plain applying makeup for art!

MAC Cosmetics is not going to be left behind with their product picks included in their Hi-Def line. The foundations and powders are certainly not new, as MAC claims boldly that they can dupe even airbrush application by just choosing the right MAC products, and tools!

Beautynomics Review : Cyleina Soaps

Nowadays, with an ultra crazy schedule of mine, it’s a sad fact that I just blindly get anything in the bathroom to bathe myself with – I’m still lucky that I’ve stocked up for the last couple of months on bath products, and whatever I’ve left behind before I left to live in Singapore. My favorite body wash, Nu Skin Liquid Body Bar has run out, and I have been rummaging my stuff for more bath products – and look what I’ve stumbled with – Cyleina.

I remember buying Cyleina Black Pearl soaps last year, and actually found them good. They smelled sweet. I forgot about it and went on with other bath products. Fast forward to July, as my friend Sheila incessantly raved about their Strawberry soap, I gave it a try and asked her to get me one.

Beautynomics Review : Ponds Age Miracle Tinted Moisturizer

I’ll let you in a secret – all this obsession with beauty products, and makeup? I got it from my mom.

My mom once owned a salon in the Binondo area when I was still very, very young, and I remember having my bangs permed at such an early age! Haha! But she tells me that she’s always been praised for her eye makeup, and her using eye-tape ( which I only learned how to correctly use during makeup school ) as she loves doing her eyes before going to work. Needless to say, she’s my inspiration.

I really don’t know how I got the Ponds Age Miracle Tinted Moisturizer in my loads of stuff – maybe a friend gave it to me, but it was my mom who first spotted it and kept it for herself. Haha! And of course, I’m more than okay to share.

What’s New : Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer

Admittedly, I have been hooked with Make Up For Ever products ever since I studied in their academy in Singapore. But ultimately, I have become so hooked with their HD line, because the line is truly, truly good. The HD Liquid Foundation is the perfect base, the HD Microfinish Powder gives that impossibly smooth finishing touch to any makeup ( not to mention extremely photogenic ), the HD kabuki brush is simply divine, and I am awaiting to try the HD Elixir to arrive in Asia, as I want to see how it works with wrinkles, fine lines, and dry skin. But even before the HD Elixir is out here, Make Up For Ever launches another excellent addition to their HD line : the HD Invisible Cover Concealer.

Beautynomics Review : Avon Ultra Moisture Rich 24K Gold Lipsticks

Whenever I hear of the brand Avon, it brings back pleasant, childhood memories. When I was young, I would dream of wearing makeup one day and browse through Avon catalogues being passed on to me, with affordably priced skin care, body care, cosmetics, lingerie ( and so much more ). I think, I remember that one of the first brands I tried was Avon, being in high school. Haha!

So, when these babies arrived on my doorstep, it was my mom who was most thrilled seeing the lipsticks because she hasn’t touched Avon products for so long already, and I still remember her using such during her younger days. I myself haven’t used Avon products for so long already – I think the last time I used them when they were being sold by Lasallians as part of a subject in Business Management. Well, what greeted me was golden glam, and with killer packaging that really impressed me.

Aside from the really nice packaging ( being my favorite color combo, black and gold ), Avon Ultra Moisture Rich 24K Gold lipsticks really have tiny 24k gold shimmers in them once you see the colors. I was really curious on how it’d look on the lips, so I decided to open them and do a roadtest.

The Ponds Big Beauty Sale, Let’s Get Crazy!

I have no idea why, or how Ponds thought of this promotion, but it’s plain genius, and very much beneficial to all the Ponds fanatics ( and those who want to take the dip ) , be it the Age Miracle, Flawless White, Perfect Matte, Clear Solutions, or White Beauty line, as they slash up to 70% off the regular prices of select products. And that select products is quite a list long!
