Last Saturday, I was a happy makeup artist as I was reunited with my buddies in makeup school, in Chinatown Point for one of the mall shows of the Miss Earth Singapore Beauty Pageant. It was one busy morning, as usually, shows like this require speed and precision. I’m not the best person when it comes to speed since I love taking my time, and perfecting everything, but I was challenged that day!

Finished product? Here’s me and the Miss Earth contestant that I did makeup on- her name’s Debra. She’s 20 years old, taking up Fashion Merchandising ( nice! ) , and she’s such a sweet girl! I did a natural look on her. She was such a sweetheart to work with, and she’s beautiful, most of all. Little did I notice how tall she was! I only got to notice when I went backstage to take a picture with her. Very model material!
I was also able to do hair ( read : coerced by my classmate who is good in hair ) on a contestant on the spot, and my fingers were burning from the curling tong as I am such a newbie in doing hair. My classmate smiled, as she saw the finish product – she told me I was actually good, and I was just nervous. She told me, if she didn’t put me on the spot, I would not be willing to do hair. Thanks, Sherry, for the push, from now on, I’ll never doubt my skills again, specially with hair. I’m going to learn it well!
Well, as my days in Singapore are numbered, times like these just make me cherish my times with my classmates, and my experience in makeup school more. In time , it will be a memory that I will just be very, very fond of, but I’ll never be able to forget this time of my life.
