I’m such a lucky girl to be living in a country with lotsa, lotsa, lotsa freebies!
First, Singapore has a sampling website called Fr3B, and second, I just got to try one of the awesomest ( is this even considered a word? ) product – CURE Aqua Gel. It’s been well raved about in Japan, with one bottle sold every twenty seconds!
What it is?
Simple and basic product that aids in removing dead skin and old skin cells which normal cleansing products are unable to remove. ( The moisturizing properties of lotion, serum, and moisturizer have a better absorption rate and can penetrate deeper into your pores using CURE)
It sounds like an exfoliant to me. What’s so appealing about it is that it has no fragrance, and preservatives, and gives the following benefits,
Gets rid of skin dullness and brightens the skin
Softens and smoothens the skin
Fairer, and more translucent skin
Lotions and moisturizers are more able to penetrate into the pores and into the deeper layer of the skin ( hence, being more effective )
My curiosity with this product started with my classmate in makeup school raving to me about the product. I actually like talking to her about beauty products because she’s the Singaporean “kikay” girl ( “kikay” – a Tagalog word which means vain in the cutest way ). She gave me a link on how I could avail free samples of CURE, and after I filled up the form, I got a call on my mobile phone the next day asking for my unit number in this apartment ( silly me, I always forget putting that in the form! ), and the next day, my samples arrived in the mail.
Such.effective.postal.system. I’m so impressed.
So, off I went to the shower. As I finished cleansing my face, I applied some product on my face. It is like Cetaphil, but more translucent and watery, as it is made up of 90% water. I waited for about 10 seconds, and started lightly rubbing my skin. Suddenly, flakes of white ( like somewhat dirt that you rub off your skin ) started appearing. Wow. Dead skin. ( I’m in awe. hahaha! ) For me, it was like an exfoliant without the beads, so definitely this is non-abrasive and very progressive in terms of technology, because facial scrubs that hurt the skin were a thing of the past, for sure!
CURE Aqua Gel can be used twice a week, and honestly, I was just so glad to get rid of the dead skin cells. With acne prone skin, I always feel the need to exfoliate as often as I can ( though not excessively ) and undergo a chemical peel every month to prevent dead skin cell buildup that leads to more breakouts. So, CURE is a very good, non-abrasive way to maintain the skin and prevent future breakouts. Of course, exfoliation is also a great step for anti-aging, as cell turnover is facilitated. I just love this process!
What floored me further was two comments from two of my friends in separate occasions. One night, I was cooking, and naturally, I didn’t have makeup on ( which means, these friends are very close to me as I never show myself without makeup hahaha! ). My friend, who was a guy, commented on how my skin looked clearer and nicer. Oh wow! And then, two days after, my flatmate who’s returned from her vacation abroad commented on how my skin became fairer and clearer, asking me what I did. I pointed to the CURE Aqua Gel placed in the shower room. Haha! I was just very happy, that people noticed the effect of CURE even before I did!
Price is pretty steep, but not too much – at 38 sgd. I think I’ll be repurchasing this as long as I get more compliments. Hahaha!

Cool! I’m scared to exfoliate right now because I’m experiencing a pretty bad breakout, but this might just be what I need. I don’t want to use stuff that could irritate my face further. Too bad it isn’t available here.
jus wanted to check…. is CURE Aqua gel some sort of a cleanser as well? I was wondering if i need to use my normal facial cleanser prior to this CURE Aqua Gel?? sorry, if i had sounded silly.. i am a newbie to such products……
