MAC Summer Rose Makes Me Bloom!

During one of my very short trips to Manila ( make it two days? argh I miss Manila! ), I was fortunate enough to be able to meet my beauty blogging girlfriends. Just instantly, they commented on how glowing I looked. I had no idea. I felt harassed, tired, but slightly at peace from my Palawan trip.

But really now, you wanna know my secret ? But of course, I’m always willing to share!

It’s MAC Beauty Powder in Summer Rose, from the Rose Romance Collection.

Singaporean Beauty Adventures : Skinlab Medical Spa

Skinlab Medical Spa must be the Singaporean version of the very well renowned Belo Medical Clinics in Manila – at least, according to my impressions. It has the most advanced machines in the name of skin care, laser removal, dermatology that are non-invasive, but it is definitely more as it has spa treatments!

In other words, it is nirvana for those who are in touch with taking care of themselves.

As I went there for a visit last week in Liang Court, their bigger branch which is located in Clarke Quay ( a smaller branch can be found at Wheelock Place, Orchard Road ). The feel of the place was very “medical” – absolutely quiet, cold, with girls in white medical attire to attend to your needs. I browsed through their brochures and they offered- I2PL Laser Hair Removal, Botox, and their signature facials and massages.

Here’s a partial list of what they’re offering :

Beautynomics Review : CURE Aqua Gel

I’m such a lucky girl to be living in a country with lotsa, lotsa, lotsa freebies!

First, Singapore has a sampling website called Fr3B, and second, I just got to try one of the awesomest ( is this even considered a word? ) product – CURE Aqua Gel. It’s been well raved about in Japan, with one bottle sold every twenty seconds!

What it is?

Simple and basic product that aids in removing dead skin and old skin cells which normal cleansing products are unable to remove. ( The moisturizing properties of lotion, serum, and moisturizer have a better absorption rate and can penetrate deeper into your pores using CURE)

Beautynomics Review : Colorescience Wild to Mild Skin Bronzer

Mineral makeup will always be my first love. Until now, it’s the only thing that first touches my skin because of the nature of my skin – very acne and blemish prone, open pores, and being oily. My skin is highly sensitive to pore-clogging products, so I could have none of the traditional makeup, specially with foundation. With eyeshadow and blushes, sometimes I can, as long as it’s mineral makeup that touches my skin first, much like a base.

Colorescience is a luxe mineral makeup brand that was created by Diane Ranger, also founder of Bare Escentuals. This brand has so much promise, and has even earned Dr. Zein Obagi‘s thumbs up because it truly compliments dermatologist treatments, instead of hindering the rejuvenative process, in which what traditional makeup really does – ruin the dermatologists’ work by clogging pores, and damaging the skin. The science of today is just amazing – whoever thought that there would be some kind of makeup that would actually help skin get better and not damage it?

Beautynomics Product Review Updates

First of all, apologies for not having updated this blog until now. School has kept me very very busy as we get into the intermediate level, and I’ve flown back and forth to Manila, and it’s been exhausting. I’m trying to pace myself for some good ‘ol beauty blogging time, and I’m just so glad that I’ve found some time today.

Within the past few weeks, even if I haven’t been blogging, the routine continues. My thirst for trying out new products, new colors, and new stuff hasn’t withered a bit. Now, with my reader requests for updates on the products that I have reviewed, here they are, for now :

Suisse Programme Lip Repair Complex

Remember my deliriously good-buy post? Well, shoot me, but I’ve bought another bottle! And no, it’s not for me! It’s for my sister who’s based in Manila. She’s got really bad chapped lips, and her mouth is not as big, so one evening, a brilliant idea crossed my mind – and well, that is, to get her this product as long as it’s still 50% off. Haha! As I flew back to Manila to be with my family for the weekend, I gave her this as a present. She was very happy, as it was a change from the usual petroleum jelly that she was using , which was the only thing that her lips could stand ( she’s highly allergic to other products ). It worked for her, and she thanked me for this.
