Yesterday, I was the luckiest girl in Orchard Road. At least I felt, I was! My eyes were sparkling all the time!

Okay, when you see the word “Orchard Road,” you would know that this is shopping-related right? Okay, I am speaking like Becky Bloomwood again! Thing is, Confessions of A Shopaholic is not even shown here, and is due on the 27th! But its shopaholic vibe is just driving me mad!

Okay, so here’s why – I’ll tell you how it goes ( storytelling time! ).

Rewind 2 weeks before Sunday – it was a very rainy day as my classmates and I sought some refuge inside Wisma Atria Mall, specifically inside SaSa, just only about my favorite spot in that mall. As I was checking beauty products, just browsing around, a very kind saleslady asked me what I needed. I was actually feeling problematic about my lips for a couple of weeks already since they were chapping so bad. They weren’t visibly dry or wounded, but I could feel the tightness around my lip area, and it was a bit painful specially when you apply lipstick on it. I felt that all the previous lip products I’ve used were not effective on me, but surprisingly work miracles for others – like Kiehl’s lip balm!

Anyway, she accompanied me to the sale section with some normal-looking lipbalms, and I said, ” I want something more intensive.” She nodded and showed me the brand Suisse, a very good and high end Swiss beauty brand, and they had Suisse Lip Repair Complex. I pumped some product, and swiped it on my lips to test, and as I saw the pricetag at 119 sgd, I told her that I’ll let the product sit on my lips and wait for results as I walk around the mall. For a lunchtime shopping spree, I didn’t feel like splurging that much, despite the GST-free shopping promotion that day.

BUT THEN, I immediately felt the effect. I felt my tight lips relax into sudden softness, a little bit waxy ( but cream-waxy, not phoney waxy ), as my face brightened up, goodness gracious, this really works! I was trying to keep my mind off this product as I was actually contemplating on getting this after school, and making that splurge, but good thing that my bag was very heavy and it was still pouring, so I had to rush home, and forget about it.

I remember telling this to my flatmate over dinner, because she mentioned that she, being an avid SK II user, was told by her aunt that she had found another allegedly better brand than SK II, which was less hyped, named Suisse. I told her that I actually tried it in SaSa today but I had to postpone the purchase because well, I’m just a student here, saving and budgetting my days!

Fastforward to yesterday, Sunday, as my flatmate ( yes, the same flatmate ) and I went to Wisma again for some shopping. Orchard is just the shopping capital of Singapore as it has the most malls with great clothes, shoes, and cosmetics! Anyway, when I saw SaSa, I dragged her inside to show her Suisse. When we reached the shelf, I reached for the Lip Repair Complex and showed it to her. The saleslady approached us again, and asked what we wanted. We saw the mini stickers and place cards there that had $3 rebates and some other buy 1, take the second product at 30% off promotion, and I just casually, carelessly asked the saleslady, “no discount for this?” holding the Lip Repair Complex. The saleslady asked for a moment to check, and as I was getting ready to leave the store, she comes up to me and says, “this item is 50% off.”

Imagine my reaction?

Simply like this -

My eyes widen, in a very stunned expression , as words form so fast that I could hardly think where the words came from -

“Okay, I’ll get it.”. Like an automated response from a robot.

My goodness!!!!!

I tell you, I tell you, it really works. Works like a miracle, at least to me! Not only does it instantly relax tight, and dry lips, it also acts as a lip plumper. I have no desire whatsoever to have fuller lips, but then, I’d have to live up to it. I saw my lips awhile ago actually a little bit fuller than usual. Hahaha! And it is also a fabulous, fabulous lip primer! When applied before lipstick, the lipstick just glides beautifully, and I could not help but gaze in wonder on how naturally soft my lips looked awhile ago, together with lipcolor – it just looked like my lips had really, really good, natural color. Now I know that lips need to be really primed before applying lipstick – it makes such a huge difference!

I look forward to getting another bottle of the Suisse Lip Repair Complex before I go home to Manila for good. My goodness. I’ve found a miracle!

Haha! I was taken by this review not so much because of the product but because of the genuine happy fuzzy feeling it seems to be filled with!:) You’ve perfectly translated into writing the feeling every shopaholic gets after an unexpectedly great buy.:D

[...] Suisse Programme Lip Repair Complex Remember my deliriously good-buy post? Well, shoot me, but I’ve bought another bottle! And no, it’s not for me! It’s for my sister who’s based in Manila. She’s got really bad chapped lips, and her mouth is not as big, so one evening, a brilliant idea crossed my mind – and well, that is, to get her this product as long as it’s still 50% off. Haha! As I flew back to Manila to be with my family for the weekend, I gave her this as a present. She was very happy, as it was a change from the usual petroleum jelly that she was using , which was the only thing that her lips could stand ( she’s highly allergic to other products ). It worked for her, and she thanked me for this. As for me, it’s been two weeks, and the Suisse Programme Lip Repair Complex has been keeping my lips in control. They’re not so chapped anymore, they’re not so dry anymore, but they aren’t in tiptop shape yet. Maybe it just takes time. But then, I’m not complaining because they’re not too dry anymore, as before. Lipstick glides in better, and looks naturally, and it’s been a real eye-opener for me. Lips really have to be prepped prior to lipstick application. It makes a huge difference! [...]
