It was a very cold, damp, rainy day in Singapore last Monday, as I could not comprehend why it was raining this time of the year. Well, it’s better than the scorching heat, right? Haha! But then, given any weather condition, I would brave anything for beauty. It was Mario Badescu Facial Day for me in ONLYaesthetics, and nothing stopped me from having my beauty pampering that day!

Me and my beauty blogging friend Renee tried it out to see what the buzz Mario Badescu is all about , why it’s being hailed as a cult favorite, and loved by Martha Stewart, Jennifer Anniston, J.Lo, and other A-list celebrities.
First, we were asked for our skin care concerns that we would like to address – if we had allergies, and other concerns. I expressed that my skin was very very oily and is acne prone, and I am an acne sufferer. I was quite flattered when I was told, “ah, before?” twice, before I clarified that I am an acne sufferer until now, and my skin’s improvement was gradual. As I was browsing through the shelves of products, I could not help but gaze in wonder the wide array of Mario Badescu products there – from skincare, bodycare, and the men’s care line. For a mere night cream, there were four kinds, as well as day creams! I was so impressed. Well, as I was enjoying myself scrutinizing each product there, (including the very overused sample bottle of, Mario Badescu hit product Drying Lotion ) we were told that the rooms were ready for our facial session. Okay, the day was progressing really well for both of us!
I was escorted into a single, quiet, well-ventilated room with adjustable lighting. The person in charge of my facial slowly brought all of the products to the room, as I was asked to change into something else that they provided. Below, is the picture of all the products used on me. So many, huh!
The aesthetician first started removing my makeup with the Mario Badescu Eye Makeup Remover. Then, Botanical Facial Gel was massaged on my face to remove more makeup, and fully cleanse my face. After that, Silver Powder was applied on my open-pored areas, as she explained that this is very effective for whiteheads, and blackheads, as the Silver Powder helps the impurities surface. After a few minutes, she left me and I was asked to relax to let the powder sit on my skin and I ended up sleeping. Hahaha! Yes, it was a great day to sleep and she dimmed the lights just for that purpose. A little bit later, she whipped up a cotton pad, and smoothened the Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Toner on me, as she explained that Silver Powder was very difficult to remove when you try to use water to remove it, and the toner made it much quicker, and it was also dual purpose as it helped tighten the pores. After some mild swipes on my skin, she then gently massaged the Almond Non-Abrasive Facial Scrub on my face, to scrub off the impurities – whiteheads, and blackheads, that surfaced. I was able to enjoy this scrub as it smelled really fragrant, and it really was gentle, non-abrasive, non-scratching, and I felt my skin getting really clean after this!
After the cleansing and drawing out the impurities part, she lightly extracted some comedones that were in my face. She was able to extract the ones that were drawn out by the Silver Powder. After that, my face was thouroughly massaged. As in really massaged. I felt this was an anti-aging massage because the area surrounding my mouth was lifted rather frequently, as well as my undereye bags. I loved it, and I suddenly felt the stress of my eyes surface, and be alleviated instantly with it! Such bliss.
Take note in the urgency of my storytelling, that everything was very slow motion for me, even if I don’t sound like it. Hahaha! After the glorious, glorious face massage, my skin was cleansed again to be rid of the oil of the massage cream, for my skin was really prone to breakouts to any cream-based products. After the cleansing routines, it was mask time. First, she slathered a thick layer of Mario Badescu Collagen Cream on my face, to be left for fifteen minutes, to be cleansed off and replaced with the Whitening Cream. Then, my face was cleansed again, and she put Vitamin C Serum and Collagen SPF 15 Moisturizer on me to finish off. Then, it was finally done!
The facial lasted around 2 hours, and I enjoyed every moment of it. My olfactory senses did not complain as well, because the products smelled very natural ( oh boy do I hate phoney scents, so this was pure heaven to me ), and I felt that each and every one of the Mario Badescu product used on me was very useful – the cleansers smelled very nice , and were not greasy, the masks, I felt, were very effective as I saw my skin looking better ( more radiant ) after the facial, and I felt my skin plumper. What interested me the most is the Silver Powder, 2 days after the facial, I could see some of my whiteheads that aren’t on the surface finally move up, almost ready for extraction, that can be done by using facial scrubs! I’m very impressed with the facial with the personalized service, I love the ambiance of ONLYaesthetics, and I love Mario Badescu products!
Overall, this was a very pleasant Monday for me. Skin pampering is just the best, and is also something that we owe ourselves, for we should take care of ourselves and give some reward for working so hard, studying so hard, or whatever effort on our endeavors we have – because nothing beats a beautiful looking face smiling back at you every morning, in front of the mirror!

MB is one of my HG’s for acne. I got rid of my cystic zits with the Buffering lotion. I still use a lot of their products now.
