For lotion phobic people like me, even applying moisturizers everyday prove to be a struggle, as we get in touch with something in cream form. People with oily skin are also iffy about applying moisturizers because they fear that it’d oil up their skin more and add unappealing slick on their faces for the day.
The truth is, for oily skin, hydration is a must. There was a moment in my life when I refused to apply moisturizers and just used toners to keep my skin oil free. The result was hideous. Tight, dry face that still oils up. It felt really strange, with dehydrated skin that isn’t supposed to oil up, but still does. The reason is because , as skin feels dry, more sebum is produced to compensate, and that is what happens.
One product that I’m thankful that I have purchased, and braved to try last year was PCA Skin Protecting Hydrator SPF 25. I actually bought a set that’s called Blemish Control Set that has the skin hydrator as one of the products included in the set ( I shall be reviewing individual products from time to time ). With Dr. Jennifer Linder coming over Manila to talk about PCA Skin, the skincare line actually got me intrigued, as my dermatologist Dr. Marledi Dizon suggested PCA Skin products as something that I could use using my “rest period” from using Obagi Clenziderm.
Every morning, prior to makeup application, I apply my PCA Skin Protecting Hydrator SPF 25 on my skin, and let it sit for a minute of so. I put dots on my forehead, two cheeks, nose , chin, and blend and lightly massage the moisturizer on my skin in an upward, outward motion. I’m glad that the consistency of this moisturizer is very light, and does not cause me to flinch in creaminess. ( I’m so allergic to heavy creamy products, I swear ). The absorption of the moisturizer is also very fast, as it doesn’t stay on the skin for too long, because of its very light consistency. In a few minutes, I don’t even feel the moisturizer on my skin at all. I just feel that the tightness from using Obagi Clenziderm Toner ( that is a bit drying and tightening , for anti-acne purposes ) is gone, and my skin is softer with this moisturizer.
For oily skinned girls, the Protecting Hydrator is a dream for it feels light on the skin, it absorbs really fast, it doesn’t aggravate oily skin and make it oilier, it doesnt make skin break out, and it already has SPF25 that you don’t have to worry bout applying another layer of sunblock on your face ( I have this thing about applying too much ). In other words, you get to have softer and protected skin ( from the sun ) without having to compromise comfort. It’s a great product. For $30, this would last you at least a year. A jar has alot of product in it, and it’s been around 3 months, and I haven’t even used up half of it.

Is this available locally?:) In what store?:) Thanks in advance!
I have tried many of PCA skin products and none of them worked for me. I used many PCA skin products for about a year and we ried different treatments and products, it appeared that my skin got worse than it was before. Stay away from these products is my opinion. Save your money and buy products that work. Hope this helps save someones skin and money! Their lip therapy was ok, but too expensive.
