A MAC Cremesheen Rave

I’m about to not ramble, and give you a one liner, to make things simple for the weekend,

MAC Cremesheen lipsticks are true love material, because they are just like amplified cream lipsticks by MAC Cosmetics, in all its creamy, luscious-lippie glory, with added shine.

In other words, get every shade you can if you chance upon this at your local MAC counters!

Okay, rambling starts here!

Beautynomics Goes To Mediacorp’s oktoLive!

Well, my lovelies, I’ll let you in one of my fun adventures here in Singapore. With a friend who works in Mediacorp ( the biggest TV station here in Singapore, very much like ABS CBN and GMA combined ), Dee and I got a chance to score front seats – no, not those front seats for a live audience, but the seats just behind the hosts, on stage in oktoLIVE – a kiddie show! Hahaha! Funny, right? It was a whew moment that we actually blended in. Hahaha!

This is Dee, and me, hamming it up !

Getting in the Asian Skin Care Craze: My New Eye Mask Obsession

As I have been living in the very much Asian country called Singapore for almost two months already, I have slowly adapted Singaporeans’ way of living. I must admit that it is very much different from where I come from. In Manila, we’re crazy about makeup. Skin care is very much a part of our routine. But in Singapore, skincare is much, much more like that. It is considered a lifestyle, and I must say, that they really take it seriously.

As my teacher in makeup school started talking about skincare, how happy he is that he is confident with modern technology that skin care products these days are very much advanced and backed up by research and advanced science, he introduced to us using ampoules for everyday, to maintain good skin, as well as facial masks to keep our skin young, as well as target whatever we want to address ( blemishes, oily skin, dry skin ) with masks having very much whatever our skin needs.

Beautynomics Shopping : The Face Shop Essential Source 100 Hyaluronic Acid

I was just walking around Parkway Parade Mall in the East Coast area of Singapore, just window shopping and not planning on buying anything except for that lovely Giant supermarket at the top floor. I was helping my friend Dee check out BB creams, and as we walked in The Face Shop to check their BB Cream, I was browsing through products, and this box caught my eye :

Hyaluronic Acid. Do you know that anything with hyaluronic acid catches my eye? I literally stopped, and took a good look at it. I feel that it is the wonder ingredient in beauty products that helps skin retain moisture, and regain and maintain youth.

Beautynomics Review: Elizabeth Arden Fragrance in Pretty

Elizabeth Arden fragrances, have always have one impression in my mind throughout the years – and well, I describe their fragrances as timeless, classy, and feminine. My Elizabeth Arden Green Tea is my first perfume to be used up to its last spritz, and I hardly finish up a bottle of perfume.

Now, Elizabeth Arden has come up with a new fragrance, called Pretty.

A Beautynomist Update

First things first, I’m very very sorry for the lack of updates for the past week. I have so much in my mind, and so much mental drafts that I can’t wait to put into entries!

What’s up with me? Well, I am currently taking an advanced course in bridal makeup, in a not so faraway land. It’s been eating up my time, and as compared to my previous studies, this is 80% hands on, so I practice to perfection, ( or even to decency ) that exhausts me big time. Aside from that, I have some beauty events that I am excited to attend, here, and in Manila, in time. I am very much attached in being a beauty blogger, as I am reaching for my dreams of working with brides. God knows that brides make me happy!

I also have quite a surprise for you, my dear readers, and that is, in a few months’ time, I will be working with a cosmetic company in Manila, and I will teach makeup techniques, as sponsored by their company to teach for a one day stint. This opportunity has been such a blessing for me, as makeup is my passion. Spreading makeup love, is my threefold utopian dream. ( sounds familiar? )

If you have any beauty-related or makeup-related questions, please do leave a comment here. I shall be glad to answer. My next post is on its way very, very soon. No hiatus imposed, just an apology for my everyday readers! I shall make up for it.

Beautynomics Review : PCA Skin Protecting Hydrator SPF 25

For lotion phobic people like me, even applying moisturizers everyday prove to be a struggle, as we get in touch with something in cream form. People with oily skin are also iffy about applying moisturizers because they fear that it’d oil up their skin more and add unappealing slick on their faces for the day.

The truth is, for oily skin, hydration is a must. There was a moment in my life when I refused to apply moisturizers and just used toners to keep my skin oil free. The result was hideous. Tight, dry face that still oils up. It felt really strange, with dehydrated skin that isn’t supposed to oil up, but still does. The reason is because , as skin feels dry, more sebum is produced to compensate, and that is what happens.

One product that I’m thankful that I have purchased, and braved to try last year was PCA Skin Protecting Hydrator SPF 25. I actually bought a set that’s called Blemish Control Set that has the skin hydrator as one of the products included in the set ( I shall be reviewing individual products from time to time ). With Dr. Jennifer Linder coming over Manila to talk about PCA Skin, the skincare line actually got me intrigued, as my dermatologist Dr. Marledi Dizon suggested PCA Skin products as something that I could use using my “rest period” from using Obagi Clenziderm.

MAC Cosmetics Unveils Hello Kitty Collection

Hello Kitty will always, and forever be, my favorite cartoon, kitty, and friend! I’ve loved it since I was a kid, and I think alot, who share the same sentiment as I do, are excited for the collaboration of MAC Cosmetics to package it in Hello Kitty designs. Just lovely!

I am absolutely waiting here for its Asian release in March ( Singapore ) at Vivo City, and while it’s already released in the U.S., let me share to you the individual products that are part of the MAC Hello Kitty Collection!

Blue Water Day Spa Presents The First Spa Movie Theatre In The World!

One of the reasons why I’m so itching to fly back to Manila would have to be this one.

I’m such a sucker for movies. On my list on must-watch flicks would be He’s Just Not Into You, Confessions Of A Shopaholic, Red Cliff 2 ( a Chinese film, ) and I am more than excited to wait a few more months for the next installment of Harry Potter, Transformers, and a whole lot more!

I’m also such a softie for relaxation. When work becomes stressful, I’d just seek to reward myself with a good spa experience, a massage that would help you forget all your worries, and just drift into bliss.

As Francis Simsim, the owner of Blue Water Day Spa proudly describes in his blog,

My Shopaholic Confession

Hi! Im Sophie, and I’m a Shopaholic.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not endowed with a fat bank account, nor was born with a silver platter.

Through the years, I’ve learned to work hard, but the thing is, I always like to spoil myself rotten, as my ultimate gratification.

Through the years, I’ve been addicted to makeup, because I believe that it is a vehicle, or a way, to boost my self esteem. It started with a pressed powder way back in grade school, and magazines would be my inspiration, as I would swoon over products that promise to improve one’s looks and make us feel great about ourselves. Self esteem has always been my motivating factor, and strange as it seems, I chose beauty products and makeup as something that would lift and boost my confidence to a higher level. To be honest, I feel better, even great, most desirable, and most confident when I look beautiful in makeup. That’s the reason why I never go out of the house without even a single layer of foundation, and lipstick on my face.
