The Spring Collections from various makeup brands are coming in! Now, it’s NARS that’s back with such a beautiful collection – and yes, it definitely stands out as the brand seeks to be different from the usual colors released for Spring,

“My inspiration for spring was a very sexy woman,” explains François Nars, Founder
and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics. “I wanted a bit of a ‘70s feeling,
somewhere between Guy Bourdin and Chris Von Wangenheim’s photographs—
aggressive, but very sensual and fragile at the same time.” In the ‘70s, Bourdin and
Von Wangenheim’s iconic images for Charles Jourdan and of the late supermodel
Gia Carangi respectively, were sharp-focus portraits of savage eroticism—Nars’
modern vision is more beautiful, less brutal.
A striking matte brick-red eyeshadow, made infinitely more wearable in combination
with a pearly white shadow or simple black liner, is tempered by a sweet, baby pink
glossy lip; while eyes painted in pastel hues of dusty rose, sage and lilac are a fitting
match for a statement-making berry lip. And everything should be paired with the
only cheek for spring: sparkling and sculpted.

The items included for the NARS Spring 2009 Collection are as follows :

Hungry Heart Blush Duo
Iridescent gold ivory and pink sand with golden sheen for sculpting and giving the cheeks beautiful color

Duo Concealer for erasing imperfections, and creating a smooth canvass.

* Two new Duo Eyeshadows, Egea (Frosted sage and smoky lilac) and Hula Hula (Strawberry with gold particles and hazelnut with gold glitter particles )

Grenadine Single Eyeshadow

*Three new Single Eyeshadows, Baby Girl (Cotton candy with golden undertones and gold particles), Grenadines (Matte garnet), and Night Sun ( bright marigold with gold particles )

* Multiple Duo of Orgasm and South Beach, perfect for eyes, lips, and cheeks, as they are very versatile.

* Multiple Bronzer in its new shade of Cap Wert ( for medium to dark complexions with red undertones )

* Lipgloss in Sweet Revenge ( sheer pink grapefuit shade )

* New lipstick shade in Shrinagar, a jewel tone, with sheer finish shade, giving the effect of juicy berry-stained lips.

Some pictures are still not available for release, but come this February, the Spring Collection will be out in all counters carrying NARS! ( at least, in the US? ) So, check them out! I’m particularly interested on trying their concealer if they’re as flawless as they claim it is. And of course, the multiples, since they are such a cult favorite. I’m here in Singapore right now, and all my friends just keep on saying how they’d love NARS to be sold here in beauty counters, even if there are already hundreds of brands here that I can’t even start recalling!
