First of all, apologies my dear readers for being out of circuit for the past few days. I’ve been dead exhausted from the bazaars that I’ve joined, specially with the three-day Saint James Bazaar weekend last week. I’m still recuperating my strength, and I’ve been feeling sleepy and out of energy for the past few days. But hey, I’m alive, I’m alive!
Last weekend was one of those challenging weekends for me, as my partner and I headed south to participate in the Saint James Bazaar for three days! Good thing that we had friends over there that could accommodate us, that we didn’t need to travel back and forth. In other words, we were southern belles for that weekend!
Believe me when I say that I wasn’t hallucinating when I said that I packed really well. Really, really well! But then, as I opened my bag, I realized that I left some of my beauty essentials in my bathroom sink! And that included my precious PCA Facial Wash, MAMA Lotion, Glytone Toner, and PCA Skin Hydrator SPF 25! Que horror!
So, by day 1 of the Saint James Bazaar, my skin was uber dirty. It was hot, humid, and sticky, and it was a challenging place to sell mineral makeup because of the weather ( but it was well worth it ), and I needed all the dirt on my face gone before my skin breaks out ! I quickly went to Mercury Drug to find some beauty fix, and substitute for the beauty products that I use, because for sure , they won’t be available there.
When I went in the drugstore, I saw several familiar beauty brands that I’ve used in the past. To my surprise, I wasn’t in the mood to try them again. Maybe perhaps I’ve put them all in the past, and I just love my PCA Skin Facial Wash for Oily Skin! I wanted something safe, and non-commercial, so I aimed for something medicinal. I got myself an Ionax Facial Scrub, which reminded me of my college days when my dermatologist would ask me to use this to clear my pores. I’ve also remembered this product via a good friend ( would you believe, a guy? ), who’s been using this lately. This is definitely perfect to use after a hot and tiring day when your skin gets exposed to dirt, and oil, as the scrub successfully gets rid of the dirt, oil, as well as the icky feeling! Not to mention that it smells like refreshing lemon. I love it!
For my toner, I was looking for something medicinal again, as the company DermPharma popped in my head. I was looking for Skintel’s Toner because I know it can really really work for clearing breakouts, and preventing them, with their AHAs. The salesperson told me that they didn’t have Skintel, but they had other products by Dermpharma such as Gluta White & Firm ,and proceeded to encourage me to those imported, commercial brands. She thought that I was being substandard by choosing a local brand, but then, I proceeded to tell her, “Don’t you know that DermPharma’s headed by the Pioneer of Philippine Dermatology? (I’m referring to Vinson B. Pineda, MD ) they have really good products and they’re the only local brand that I trust!” ( for you to imagine, I was beaming as I was telling her about it, maybe to encourage her to try the brand herself, hahaha! ) As I went home to try the Gluta White & Firm Toner, I realized that it had some alcohol content, and it did remove the remaining dirt left on my face from a hard day’s work, as I proceeded to blissfully sleep with my face, all squeaky clean.
Well, there’s my emergency beauty haul! I’m so relieved that with the three days worth of hot weather, and promoting mineral makeup, my partner and I were able to survive it all, successfully, without a single zit! Hahaha!

achie soph! i soooo love ionax. been using it since highschool “pagdadalaga/uber break out days” as prescribed by dearest derma… i also love the lemony lemony scent!
