Red is definitely the color of the season. Just one look at these babies, and I think it would send me rushing to the nearest MAC Cosmetics counter to get me some. The packaging is just glorious, glorious, glorious, and fit for royalty ! So, these precious babies from the MAC Holiday Collections are up for a review! Ready? ( and this is me getting all giddy )
First up, is a lip bag from the Adoring Carmine Collection, in Neutral Lips. The drawstring bag is just a stunner, don’t you agree? It expands!

This lip bag includes three lippies : a glaze lipstick in Soft Spot, a lustre lipstick in Real Treasure, and a mini-lipglass in My Dear.

Soft Spot is a very very sheer pink that has hardly any color at all, that you might want to layer on top of a good pink, or brown lipstick to add up that “glaze” and shine, without being too “shiny” like the effect of lipgloss. Real Treasure on the other hand is the safest, and most neutral brown-pink that I’ve ever tried. It’s very sheer, it’s very natural, almost a your-lips-but-better shade but it is hardly reddish. This is a very nice brown-pink shade that I can recommend for those who would want their first dose of that color, which is more brown than pink. Nothing too strong, just very natural and very posh/chic. My favorite would have to be the lipglass in My Dear, as this peach-beige shade wins me hands down for its being “nude”, me being a sucker for nude lipglosses!

Next up, is Devoted Poppy: 6 Classic Eyes from the Passions of Red Collection. The snakeskin print on the compact really gets me. Seriously!
To be really honest, I pretty much throw out any, and I mean any applicator from any eyeshadow compact/quad that I have, specially if they’re sponges. I don’t know, it’s just a personal bias that I don’t like them. I like my full handled or even travel-sized brushes ( separately ) better. But I don’t think I will be able to throw out the applicator on this one, since this is a 213SE mini brush!! Haha! This is a first!

This quad is a very pleasant mix of very cheerful colors, if I may say! On the left are beautiful neutrals, and on the right are very pretty bright colors! If you match them ( horizontally ), I’m sure they’d still work as great, as I think, one can cross over from the neutrals and be adventurous sometimes! The only matte or satin finish in texture in this set is the light peach on the upper right corner, and the rest have shimmers on them already. I might just have to comment that their textures are really nice, specially the neutral ones and the peach color, but I think that I had difficulty swiping the green, maybe it’s because it’s semi-glittery in texture already.

And the third one I have is a lip compact from the Passions of Red Collection, called Intriguing Scarlet : 3 Cool Pink Lips.. Wow, I just heard pink. Pink’s just about my favorite lip color ( every single time! haha! )
The first leftmost shade would be something that can amp up any lipcolor that you want, so that’s already a nice thing to have in your bag, to start with! The middle shade reminds me so much of my favorite shade of MAC lipstick, Cosmo, only that this shade’s texture is more sheer, and maybe, in my imagination, converted to Lustre texture. The rightmost shade looks daunting, but really, its a natural your-lips-but-better shade of pink. Very very natural. They’re all glossy in texture, and when applied, are semi-sheer. Very youthful, very wearable for everyday.
…and, and, of course, the 316 SE lip brush isn’t going anywhere but inside this compact! For life! Hahaha!
Sigh, I just love these red presents for Christmas! Makes me all the more excited for the Holidays! Anything here on your list?
