goofing around the Grand Palace. Such a lovely place ( such a lovely place )

One thought…and to think I was not looking forward to this trip!

I was dreading to go to Bangkok a few weeks ago because for one, that would mean me not attending the Philippine Blog Awards, and two, I was saving up for something that I did not want to splurge last weekend. Well, the trip with my girlfriends was booked months before, so might as well push with it.

BUT BOY I WAS WRONG! Bangkok made me CRAZY. And I mean CRAZY!

Crazy in the sense that it was the ultimate bargain shopping heaven in terms of clothes. CRAZY prices that my luggage was filled up within a day, and I was already regretting that I tried to bring a smaller amount with me for the trip because you just can’t not buy there because of the drop-down prices, and the clothes are also very nice! They don’t look cheap at all and I was able to buy quite a number of dresses for myself! I promise myself never to SCRIMP on a Bangkok trip ever in my entire lifetime. I truly promise!

Another CRAZY thing was the food. Everything was so inexpensive there, because even at the foodcourt, everything’s affordable ( around 70 baht = 91 php = 2 usd for a dish of pad thai, their really good noodles ) and super yummy! The food tripping there was incredibly soul-filling!

Going back, with regards to my beauty report for Bangkok, I will have to admit that I was lured too much by clothes shopping that I didn’t do alot of beauty shopping.

But then… I did!

Sigh, I shall have you next time.

Day one, call it midnight when we arrived,my friends and I went to the nearest 7-11 for some quick tummy fillers. The bottles over the refrigerated goods area caught my eye and I got this baby – a Beautishot - a beauty drink! This one’s full of Grapeseed Extract, Lycopene and Coenzyme Q10. Sounds like an anti-aging drink to me, but there was another variant that was a mixture of Collagen and Fiber. Too bad I left th drink in my hotel room because I was saving it for two days in the ref! *sniff * I must try that when I get back!

Woohoo!

On our last day, we went to Paragon Plaza for dinner, and as I saw the beauty department, I could not help but beg my friends to sidetrack a bit – I just had to check them out! My first stop was the Bobbi Brown counter – and guess what – THEY HAVE THE SHIMMERING NUDES COLLECTION! The counter people were super nice there – Timtam ( the girl ) and Pan ( the guy ), and oh, another photo-op! Hahahaha! ( stay tuned for my next entry if I actually got something from Bobbi Brown! Eep! )

My next stop was the MAC Cosmetics counter. Gosh, how could I miss out on MAC on my every journey? I just could not. Take a look at the picture of bare-faced me, from nonstop touring, walking and shopping, with the fabulous Jay in such beautiful avant garde makeup! I had to stop , approach her, compliment her, and ask for her name because her makeup was just traffic-stopping!

Another stop was the NARS counter. At this rate of my gushing over cosmetics, my friends were slowly getting mad at me for I was acting like a saleswoman that they were shedding off good `ol cash for shopping clothes in exchange for cosmetics! Here’s us hanging out at the NARS counter – with my friend M getting a Cactus Flower Creme Blush with her! ( I kept on telling M that it was Phoebe’s favorite blush brand so there..haha! )

Considering the prices of NARS and Bobbi Brown was a bit lower than the Philippine counterpart, and MAC Cosmetics BKK and MNL were practically the same, I still enjoyed my trip – specially when I was about to go home, because the airport was just filled with so much good stuff – beauty stuff, that is! There were so much travel exclusives for fragrance, cosmetics, and beauty products, and if you’re the ultimate MAC addict – you’ll definitely love their travel exclusives like a sage fluidline, a dipdown fluidline, a limited ed 209 brush, in a pretty black leather case, as well as travel makeup brushes and stuff! I also saw this really nice Bobbi Brown Creme Lipstick trio for only around 1800 baht ( around $49 usd ), and this Maybelline Mascara in two’s for only 600 baht ( around $16 usd? ). Very very fulfilling. Gratifying. At that moment, I swore to myself – I shall work harder , and travel more! Hahaha! There are just so much good stuff!

This is a sign that I should be saving. Really hard. and just hang out in every airport I can! Kidding! I surely had a blast! I hope your weekend was great, as well!

Stay tuned for my next entry! Ciao babes!

I DEFINITELY have to sked my first trip to Bangkok soon!
I guess I need to drag friends with me because it’ll be more of a shopping than sight-seeing trip, huh? Hahaha…

Hello! I’m really curious to know and would really appreciate it if you could answer my question! Are the prices at MAC in Bangkok similar or the same to the US prices? I’m curious as I live in Australia and MAC is beyond ridiculously overpriced EG. a 188 brush is $85 over here and in the US it’s $35. Going over there soon and would love to know!
Thank you so much, I’m a huge fan of your blog!
    xx

Hi there! Hmm all over Southeast Asia I believe we are more expensive than MAC US. MAC US will always be the lowest priced benchmark!:) I think it is slightly lower priced in HK. But just a bit.
