Skincare is the most important thing in our everyday lives. It is much, much more important than taking a bath, brushing one’s teeth, or even eating. ( Of course, I’m kidding, right ! ). ( But then, I don’t think I’ll have the will to live if my skin is infested with too much imperfections. sniff ) Proper skin care would maintain good skin and prevent problems from coming in. Choosing the proper skin care is also important – the one that’s good for you. I’ve tried Skin Hour a few months ago, and I can say that I can recommend this to those who have just started their skin care ( early teeners ) to those who want to maintain their good skin for some anti-aging maintenance.

Cleanse
Cleansing is very important because of course, it strips the skin off the dirt and the oil accumulated within the day. Aside from facial washes, cleansing oils have been very popular lately because they not only cleanse the skin without stripping it off its natural oils, and retains moisture, they are also very good as makeup removers. The Skin Hour Deep Cleansing Oil is a bit minty when used, and I definitely use this to remove not only my face makeup, but also my very stubborn eye makeup.

Tone
Not all the dirt from the skin would be removed from cleansing alone, so the next step, toning, is much needed specially for those who have oily skin. For those with normal skin, some toners might prove to be harsh because they might strip the skin its natural moisture, so except for those who are into an intense anti-acne treatment, toners with very neutral formulas are most encouraged to tone the skin – to get rid of the remaining dirt, as well as refresh the skin and tighten the pores a little bit. The Skin Hour Firming and Clarifying Toner , like the Deep Cleansing Oil, is dual purpose. It’s refreshing enough to tone our skin, and is not harsh at all! It can also double as a moisture mist because instead of drying out the skin, it refreshes the skin all the more. I like this product and I use this whenever I’m not allowed to use my Salicylic Acid-based toners whenever I undergo a skin peeling session from my dermatologist.

Moisturize – Day
Moisturizing during the day is a bit difficult for me, because I hate really greasy moisturizers. Moisturizers hydrate the skin because without hydrated skin, skin is tight-looking, even if skin is oily. Even oily skin needs moisturizing/hydration because if skin is left too tight and dry, it might signal the sebaceous glands to secrete more oil, which is really a horrid sight – tight, oily skin. Proper hydration can also cause the skin to be less oily as the skin condition is balanced. Those with dry skin need moisturizing all the more because dry skin looks old. The Skin Hour Mattifying Day Cream with SPF15, not only ensures moisturizing and hydrating the skin, but also ensures that it won’t feel greasy at all, as well as ensures that skin won’t slick up with oiliness with its mattifying properties. Best part? It smells like tarte. Tarty vanilla. Oh yum!

Moisturizing – Night
While we are luxuriously in our respective dreamlands during the night, our skin is actually catching up, as all our cells regenerate ( not only in the skin, but all throughout the body ). I don’t think it would hurt to leave on a nice, more intense moisturizer at night for an added dose of hydration, and repair for our skin, specially that we’re sleeping in air conditioned rooms, that can dry out our skin, for sure! The eye area is really important to focus on because it is the first part of the face to age, so packing up moisturizer on the eye area really really helps. The Skin Hour Moisturizing Night Cream smells like splendid mandarin, and I’ve been using it under my eyes for quite a while, and I can say that I wake up feeling my undereyes not too dry. Very, very nice.

To sum up, this is a very normal, but modern skin care routine ( since we have replaced facial washes with cleansing oils ) that everyone can try to adapt, no matter what brand they prefer – it’s all about being attuned to whatever skin care brand you prefer. Skin Hour is just one of those up and coming brands that offer really natural solutions for skin care, and I could recommend it to those who are interested with adapting an organic beauty regimen.
