Last Saturday, after sleeping for three hours the previous night before, I was there 8 am sharp at the OWG Studio in Makati to be part of acclaimed photographer/artist Ross Capili‘s Next Models Workshop, a one-day lesson in photography. My part? I’m one of the makeup artists! I had so much fun during this experience doing Jayanne ( who became a very fast friend, because of our being so talkative, haha! ) and Cilarisse‘s makeup, as well as getting carried away , suggesting poses and coaching the models on what to do.
Here are my girls’ best shots,
Jayanne, as per instruction of Ross, was to be transformed into a doll. I whipped some shimmery pink-red and played it with purple eyeshadow. She gave out a very Kylie Minogue- Light Years vibe. Very futuristic and techno. I love her outfit!
Trivia : Do you know that Jayanne’s just 16 years old? She goes to a highschool in Los Angeles and plays basketball. Cool, isn’t it? She flew to the US the next day! I can’t wait for her to come back the coming holiday season!
Cilarisse was such a sweetheart, and a dusky beauty. I figured beautiful earth tones for her- and that robe gave her that Anggun-new-age feel. Very spiritual. Love it!
During the shoot, I could sense excitement, challenge, and tons of ideas all over the place! I was very hyped up myself as I was so pleased with how the models projected! I’m so impressed!
I also got to realize that whenever I do makeup, I usually don’t have enough energy to put my own makeup! I ended up looking really bare-faced , but that’s me with foundation and concealer on. Oh well, I better at least wear some eyeliner next time. Look at Brigitte, after her tedious makeup duties, she still had time to doll up. I wish I had her energy!
Kudos to the creative team, for RoyAnne of Fabrichild for her very gorgeous ensembles, Edz of Gleamer for her stunning accessories, to models Caren, Katherine, and Fiona ( who are just too gorgeous as well as so nice to work with! )and fellow makeup artists Aizza, Kiten and Brigitte. Thank you to all the talented photographers who attended the event, as well!
What can I say ? I just love doing makeup! Whenever I touch my makeup brushes and start working, I forget the world, and it’s just me, and my craft. I’ve never been happier in my entire life. *smiles*
