Just lately, I have been sucked into the bandwagon of Twilight lovers out there. The Twilight series is Stephanie Meyer’s four books that’s all about the love story of Isabella Swan, to vampire Edward Cullen. I find it such a mesmerizing read because I have been fascinated with vampires even from way, way back, devouring Anne Rice’s novels, Linda Lael Miller’s vampires, reading about Dracula from Elizabeth Kostovo ( The Historian, ) and now, Twilight!
Going back, I just felt the weather was growing colder as my hands start looking a little bit pale. I rushed to the salon bringing four bottles with me : Poshe’s Base Coat and Top Coat, OPI’s Tickets to Paradise ( for my pedi ) , and MAC in Illegal Purple, a nail polish shade from the Cult of Cherry Collection, for my manicure.
I must say that MAC in Illegal Purple is a luscious purple-wine-black. It’s like red wine, almost black but with hues of red-purple. Almost like the color of Welch Grape Juice but a bit redder. I find the color very sexy, and well, bloody, even if it’s purple. I think I subconsciously chose this color because I’ve been reading too much Twilight ( I’m on Eclipse already, the second to the last book of the series ), and I’ve had that fantasy of becoming a vampire, so this is the closest that I could get. My nails. Hahaha!
As for the quality, I find my hands in well, good hands with Poshe being applied in between the color, because I have tried scraping stuff using my nails for a roadtest today and it didn’t budge. I hope that within the week, there’d be no chipping because I’m just so in love with the shade!
But so far, everything’s great!
Here’s to cold days and fading tans! We surely need darker shades ( darker lipsticks, blushes, and even nail shades ) to salvage and give more warmth to our complexion!
