MAC Cosmetics is back with a vengeance with its well-loved mineralized makeup, this time, they’re eyeshadows with the Electroflash Collection. Mineralized eyeshadows are so economical ( in the money and travel kit-sense ) that you get to save because you get light, medium and dark shades in one product ! Here are three mineralized eyeshadows from the collection : ( L-R ) Love Connection, Odd Couple, and Sea & Sky. Lovely colors, aren’t they?
Love Connection is described as, “Pale beige with gold and blue veining/Warm gold mono”. I love, love, love Love Connection because golden beige happens to be my favorite color amongst the eyeshadows ( can you tell? I’m a neutrals girl! ). Dainty shades of very light blue ( almost shimmery silver ) and pink can also be pulled off as lid shades, or colors to highlight the browbone. Very princessy.
Odd Couple, described as, “Warm gold with lavender and bronze veining/Purple mono.” The purple mono is not as intense as it looks from the pan, but is still a beautiful, shimmery shade of mid-violet , that is a perfect match for the bronze veining. There is one particular “veining” on the pan that is really a glittery ( not shimmer ) bronze shade that can give your eyeshadow look a good boost if you swipe some on top of your eye makeup! I find this very regal, classy, but modern as well. Now, why am I thinking if I’m going to wear this shade to a wedding ( not mine, of course? ) Too much bridal magazines here? haha! moving on…
Sea & Sky, described as “Silvery pale blue with deep blue and silver veining/Bright blue mono “ is one adventurous shade combo. The silvery sky blue is really stunning, as the bright mono blue is so vivid and beautiful! This is the one I’ve been reaching for the most lately to try my luck with because I am very much challenged if I can pull off this color! I shall update you if I am successful! Haha!
So far, I call this an excellent collection - great colors, great monos, pigmented enough. Just a tip- if you want to intensify the colors, the mineralized eyeshadows can be used WET!
