From the latest Clarins Summer Fever Collection 2008, let me present to you my pick for the best product amongst the items in the collection - the Clarins Summer Fever Sun Sheer Lipsticks, with SPF 15.

At first look, these lipsticks look too small to be well, lipsticks. Standing a little bit above two inches, they pass for the word “cute” and are considered travel-friendly for their size. Let’s open them and see the shades!

Aren’t the shades all “sunny” and gorgeous? Sunset Cinnamon is a subdued and sheer coral that can be worn by those who want subtle, natural, but beautiful sunny colors, Paradise Papaya on the other hand is a “wilder” shade of coral, and is the perfect substitute for red during warmer weather, and Tropical Ginger is just a sexy coral-nude for those who want a very natural, yet luscious looking lips. My favorites amongst the three? I love Paradise Papaya during lazy days, and during night Sunset Cinnamon is a staple. You know me, in my mind, it’s summer forever. *wink*

swatches!

The texture of the lipsticks are somewhat glossy, iridescent, and pearlized. They’re not shimmery, but come out glossy and luscious-looking. Heehee.

Speaking of “sheer” lipsticks, I notice that most lipsticks that promise sheer, glossy lips often don’t have great color payoff. It’s either they’re really really sheer that you feel and see that your lips were just applied with gloss, or they just go away too easily. With the Clarins Sun Sheer Lipsticks, it is indeed sheer enough, but what sets it apart from “sheer lipsticks” is that it is sheer with great color payoff. There IS color on my lips, and it stays long enough until my next trip to the ladies room!

One last thing I love, is that there is SPF 15 with these lippies, as well as moisturizing ingredients such as Vitamin E, Shea Oil and plant oils. My lips are chaptastic, and are perennially dry, so I appreciate the moisturizing ingredients, as well as the sun protection. God knows I can’t live with lipsticks that are drying!

So that explains why my mom and my sisters have been asking me about when I’m turning over my lipsticks to them. Hahaha! Just because I really really love these lipsticks, I’ve taken them out for a photoshoot! Look!

Sunset Cinnamon for that classic look, ala summer version

Paradise Papaya for that head-turning summer pout

Tropical Ginger for that summer nude lip. Gorgeous

How do you like them?
