A photoshoot. Yep, that is our final exam! Well, ready for my story?
Here goes :
A day before the final exam, Jheng and I met up. According to her, I looked so relaxed and ready for the exam while she was on the brink of a breakdown. So untrue. That was what I was trying to battle - stress. I was trying to tell myself that everything will be okay, but deep inside, I was at my most nervous state that I could faint any moment! Yes, now you know how nerviosa I am! I have failure as one of my greatest fears, but I know that if I get all tensed and keep on getting really nervous, I might not be able to function the next day. So I tried to condition myself.
After shopping for last minute supplies and accessories for our themes, we bid each other goodbye, and wished each other good luck for our finals day. As I got home, I hurriedly packed all my stuff for our big day. Gosh, I even dreamed that I woke up and I could not remember anything! ( Goodness gracious, I think I’m losing it ).
Anyway, as I woke up to my dreaded day, a very good friend of mine was nice enough to drive me to school, and my sister was kind enough to accompany me to take photos. The day started with our teacher RB Chanco breezing in a very dazzling black dress, and started doing a final demo on color-themed makeup. She transformed Les from a doll-looking gal into a Brazilian bombshell!

Then after that, it was time to go back to our workstations and start the real thing. Oh gosh.

Jheng and I started with pretty sisters Tin and Diana. This is what we achieved first ( notice how Diana looks like a younger Jessica Biel? )
After being asked twice by our teacher to actually stop doing makeup and eat lunch, I finally gave in and ate some Amber’s pancit malabon. Lunch never tasted that good. Even water!

Next up in line is Phoebe with my planned avant garde look on her. Her spunk and very cool vibe just makes her nail avant garde shots really good. I used mineral eyeshadows here and foiled them to make sure they pop out.

Next were Mae and Kevin for a bridal shot. I think I’ve mentioned that my favorite part of the course is learning about bridal makeup. I love, love, love creating shadows with creme contouring and highlighting underneath, and I love enhancing natural beauty with soft hues. Mae and Kevin had great chemistry that Phoebe was telling me how the observers would stop everytime they’d be taken pictures of! Heehee!

but really, I have to say that the best colored makeup for the day is Jheng’s. Her Arab bride look is simply worth a million - that Jamie did so much justice to!

Jayvee made me go breathless from laughing - because when I told him that he’d be Mr. Bean that day, I didn’t think that he’d be game enough that he brought a complete costume of Mr. Bean - complete with suit, and STUFFED TOY!! ( that was really, really nice! )
Not in photos are Jheng’s smoky eyed look, Jheng’s Audrey Hepburn look, my Mae in cover girl shot, and my last shot, which was a bondage theme executed by Jamie. As the day was progressing, we were getting more tired, and would you believe that we were one of the last to leave by about 8:30 pm? Thing is, it was all worth it. No regrets, I know we both did our best.
As per our very very gracious and talented photographer Randy Tamayo, he is one photographer that I could very much vouch for. He isn’t just a photographer. He isn’t just a fashion photographer - he also directed the shoot, suggested poses, and even approached us to show the initial shots if we were okay with the makeup fusing with the lighting he set up. A very big shoutout for him for helping us out! Truly admirable!
Endless thank you’s to our models ( Tin, Phoebe, Mae, Jayvee, Kevin for me, and Diana, Angel, Brian for Jheng and us sharing Jamie ), my sister for being there for me giving assistance, Kris the DOTA girl for cheering us on and just being there, and of course, someone up there that eased our soul and prevented us to breakdown that day and made us see this as one of our achievements in our lives.

I swear these sisters are made from heaven. Ultra gorgeous siblings. Stay tuned for my next post about products used in the midst of all this chaotic day!
