A birthday wish come true – longtime friend Mae agreeing to model for me!

This year’s simply been the best for me as I was able to enroll myself in makeup school and explore more my passion. This is even a better year as I turned a year older, surrounded by things that I love most!

A day before my birthday, I rushed to MAC Shangri-la to attend the MAC Bridal Workshop by Erika Saenz , Senior MAC Trainor.

Erika working on a bridal look – pinks , and soft hues are definitely bridal!

Of all the looks that I’ve been learning, I feel most at ease and fascinated by bridal makeup. It’s soft, luminous, simple, but very stunning. I also got to learn how to contour and highlight using liquid products. Very, very gratifying.

Next, as I was getting my Studiolights from the MAC Counter, someone was approaching me, smiling, and I said in a very weird way, “Nikki, ikaw ba yan?” ( Nikki, is that you? ) Guess what? There was a sudden beauty blogger eyeball with Nikki of Askmewhats! How fun!

Nikki and me!

Jheng and Nikki! yes, they’re real!

Had dinner with very good friends, that I’ve been blessed with ( thank you for the surprise, Phoebe! Thanks for your birthday song Jheng!)

And on the day of my beeday itself, I WENT TO CLASS! Achieved an excellent rating in the 3d neutral eyeshadow look,

Whee! I finally did it!

Got to try how to do the smoky eyed look on my beautiful model Mae Anne,

but seemed to struggle with applying false eyelashes. ( Nobody’s perfect! ). So my poor sister’s going to be my guinea pig this week, as I will drain all my DUO glue on her. Haha!

After the class, we rushed to MAC Shangri-la for a talk on Catwalk Trends by Erika Saenz - and realized that runway makeup is beyond the rules. Very edgy, eccentric, and original. Not really my style but I’m trying to get there!

MAC Bridal Kits are so affordable! Product bundles are a joy! Post pending!

Rushed again to MAC Glorietta for the MAC Bridal Kit Launch, and played with the makeup over at the MAC Cosmetics counter.

By the end of the day, my eyes were hardly open, but I was very very happy to have been given the chance to do the things I love on my birthday. Every aching muscle and sleepless night did not matter, because I just love what I’m doing. A birthday wish of mine would just be to be able to be good at what I’m doing and get somewhere one day. Beauty blogging has been a joy, makeup artistry a newfound fulfilling experience, and mineral makeup a wonderful advocacy that I’m glad to have with me.
