I could not forget how many rejoiced the moment Kiehls landed in our country, because of the cult favorite lip balms. Alot of people just swear by Kiehls, and even my bestbud loves using it specially the facial wash and moisturizers as it is fitting in cold weather, when she spends her vacation in Canada during the holidays. Well, of course, the curious me wanted to try out some Kiehls, and I decided to try the very much raved about product, which are their lipbalms.

I got myself a tube of Kiehls Lipbalm SPF 15 in the shade 30g- a reddish shade. In the midst of the summer heat, my lips were chapping heavily, and it was a great time to show off some bare lips that are soft and nice. When I squeezed a little product from the tube, I noticed that transparent liquid came out - maybe the color and the balm liquid separated. So I proceeded to swipe the spilled transparent liquid on my lips. During some other days I would be lucky that the color and the liquid would come out as one, so with my frustration, I gave this tube up because of the messiness and too-liquid consistency. I was able to put this into good use when I went to makeup school where we could put the lip balm on a small platter as we can use the lip brush to apply lip moisturizers on our models for skin prepping purposes. I hit two birds with one stone - it was a very sanitary approach to using products on models, and still the product works.

Cristine
, one of my models, asked me by the end of our session what lip moisturizer I used on her for she finded it nice as her lips were very soft when I applied it on her. One drawback of this is that after a few hours, the lip starts to sort of “flake up” and say byebye to its old skin.

So to sum up, the Kiehls Lip Balm SPF 15 is as good as it gets - it softens the lips , almost instantly, as more than three of my very close friends would say. But in certain circumstances, and for really chapped lips, lip-skin just might want to get exfoliated after a few hours. Works for some, but does not work for some as well.

How about you? Have you tried Kiehls? I’d love to hear from you!

I have Hue No. 58B and I love it. It does separate sometimes so I shake the tube first before applying.

Hiyee! I’ve been using the Lipbalm #1 and I love it! It really does the job with my super dry lips. I just wish it has some kinda scent to it. I have a Lancome Juicy Tubes in Cherry Red that does separate too. But with the other lighter shades, it don’t. =)

I just love this product! As in I hoarded when I went abroad. Hehe. It does separate but only when its left in very warm places. Usually keeping it cool should do the trick. :)
