Last Saturday, I was extra early as I spent my morning at Starbucks having breakfast with neighbor S, as she worked in Greenbelt, and my class would be held at the MAC Cosmetics area in Glorietta 3. I was very excited as I have been hanging out there to shop around nice lipsticks and brushes, and it’d be my first time to see the makeup artists there work their magic and teach us some tricks!
At 10am sharp, I walked from Greenbelt to Glorietta thinking that well, the malls open at ten am so I’d still be early ( it’s about a 5 minute walk ). I was surprised that alot of my classmates were already there! While waiting for Mikee, the makeup artist that would do the demonstration, we were told that we can ask any questions about MAC products, and with that go signal, I rushed to the brush area , and started bugging Sallie, the blooming enceinte MAC makeup artist that helped me so much in deciding which brushes I’d want- and tell you this – I was first to spot that single MAC blending brush # 222 that I immediately asked her to get it off the shelf as I was buying it after the class! Joyness!
When Mikee arrived, we started right away with the Masterclass. The model for the class is Kang, the beautiful retail manager for the Glorietta branch. Mikee discussed skin care, the “prime look” which is the day look, transformed it into a night look which was more dramatic, and capped the session with an absolutely stunning runway look. I.love.the.parrot.inspired.look. ( shown above ) I want to achieve something like that very very soon!

After the Masterclass, we were free to look around, but I was craving for a tutorial as I’ve been frustrated with colorful eye makeup for the longest time. I begged Jheng to teach me, and asked Phoebe to come with no makeup as my model, but I was shy too! Hahaha! So with my being persistent, Sallie came into the rescue and did Phoebe’s eye makeup. After that, I wanted to do it on my own, as Sallie led me every step of the way, pointing out my mistakes, assuring me that what I was doing was right, and teaching me how to blend. Turns out I blend too enthusiastically that my pressure was too strong that I was depositing more product than blending it. I was very very happy that despite all the moving people there, Sallie stayed by me and helped me out. ( Thank you! )

In the end….I was able to take home a very very gratifying loot. Aren’t they adorable? I’m starting to have a love affair with MAC brushes. Aside from performing really well, they give you a boost of confidence. I hope to collect all of them someday! Thank you to the wonderful , and friendly people of MAC Cosmetics Glorietta branch – Mikee, Kang, Sallie, and Jarwin! You’re all fabulous!
It was a MAC-filled weekend alright! How was yours?
