Becca prides itself in having 30+ shades of their liquid foundation!

Boy, and I’ve never loved field trips this much!

One Saturday afternoon, our makeup class teacher RB Chanco required us to go on a “field trip” to Adora in Greenbelt 5, where Becca Cosmetics is housed. Becca Cosmetics is an Australian luxury cosmetics brand that is known for aiming for really flawless canvasses and au naturelle makeup.

Erin Boncan , makeup artist for Becca Cosmetics was there to give us a demonstration using Becca Cosmetics, as well as give us a trick or two on how to create a great look. I took my chance by standing next to the model, our lovely classmate Leslie, as Erin was doing her magic on Leslie.

Leslie’s before look

I have always seen Leslie as really beautiful, even without makeup. I’ve often felt that she’s a perfect canvass for applying makeup on because I can already imagine how astounding and beautiful the after look would be given her features – she had deep set eyes, a very beautiful tanned complexion, and lovely cheekbones. Well, I’m far from wrong! Erin did a great job on Leslie that screamed either Jessica Alba, Isabel Granada ( as per Jheng ) or Eva Longoria ( as per Martin ). Their signature brown pencil eyeliner made the browns of Les’ eyes a whole lot browner, and the mica powder amplified the shimmer of the eyeshadow that was perfect for a night look. Erin also used bronzer and contoured Les’ cheeks, that gave her the perfect sun-kissed summer look. Absolutely stunning.

Leslie with Erin of Becca- both are happy with the finished look!

As we were checking their makeup, I noticed that the pressed powders had this really silky and velvetty feel that I think would create a really flawless finish. I was also very curious with the cream to powder eyeshadows as they seemed to make really great eyeshadow bases. I was about to pick a shade of a cream to powder eyeshadow base when something else captivated me beyond words – their cheek blush brush. Made of divine blue squirrel hair, this was just perfect – the shape, the luxurious texture, and the “product-pickup” quality. I had a hard time letting go of that brush, and in the end, I gave in and made a purchase – alas, am I starting to build my brush collection already? Heehee

In the end, my classmates Jheng, Les and I caved in and bought the brush, and got a mini tube of their mineral primer as a freebie. I haven’t tried it yet, but with my love of primers, I hope to be able to love this – because Jheng and Les had been raving about how perfect the mattifying primer of Becca felt!

Any Becca fans out there? Shoutout please!
