Makeup School Escapades : Zee Final Exam

A photoshoot. Yep, that is our final exam! Well, ready for my story?

Here goes :

A day before the final exam, Jheng and I met up. According to her, I looked so relaxed and ready for the exam while she was on the brink of a breakdown. So untrue. That was what I was trying to battle – stress. I was trying to tell myself that everything will be okay, but deep inside, I was at my most nervous state that I could faint any moment! Yes, now you know how nerviosa I am! I have failure as one of my greatest fears, but I know that if I get all tensed and keep on getting really nervous, I might not be able to function the next day. So I tried to condition myself.

After shopping for last minute supplies and accessories for our themes, we bid each other goodbye, and wished each other good luck for our finals day. As I got home, I hurriedly packed all my stuff for our big day. Gosh, I even dreamed that I woke up and I could not remember anything! ( Goodness gracious, I think I’m losing it ).

Anyway, as I woke up to my dreaded day, a very good friend of mine was nice enough to drive me to school, and my sister was kind enough to accompany me to take photos. The day started with our teacher RB Chanco breezing in a very dazzling black dress, and started doing a final demo on color-themed makeup. She transformed Les from a doll-looking gal into a Brazilian bombshell!

This week , I’ve been absolutely had no sleep.

This week, every single second counts. A countdown to my final exams in Basic Makeup Artistry!

Contest Alert : Let’s Have a Bee-auty Week!

Yes, and I mean bees rule! From my unforgettable experience in a bee farm, I’ve never forgotten how bees are important “beautifiers” not only with the sweet nectar they make, but also with their by-products that are made into precious beauty products that look our best. Take for example – lipbalms from beeswax! Equating it as such, when you see a bee, be thankful for your soft, luscious lips! Haha!

June 22-28 is Pollinator Week, and as celebration of that, we are giving away 5 Radiance Kits from Burts Bees. Radiance Kits include travel sizes of Burts Bees’ signature products in travel sizes. I’ve already spoken with Burts Bees’ rep but they told me that the contest is open only to US residents only ( sorry to non-US residents, I’ll make it up to you, I promise! ).

A Beauty Addict’s Birthday Loot

*Takes a deep breath* well, here it is – what I’ve got for my birthday. Last year, on impulse, I got myself a Macbook and a DSLR Camera for my birthday ( of course, my dad paid for my Macbook and I paid for my camera haha! ). This year, the greatest birthday gift I gave myself was enrolling myself in makeup class – I will never regret this decision I made because I know in my heart that I love, love makeup, and of course, my birthday would not be complete without a beauty loot. A shameful one, actually. Hahaha!

This pre-birthday loot was purchased right after the MAC Bridal Makeup Workshop. I got myself a DUO Surgical Adhesive from the MAC Counter as we were going to be taught on how to apply false eyelashes the day after, Studiolights in Ideal Pink, Sand, ( and the darkest one the next day ) for my creme highlighting and contouring for my finals ( I’ve always wanted to do that ! ), a MAC Prep and Prime for the Eyes for my models, a Makeup For Ever Concealer Palette since I’ve been borrowing Jheng‘s Cinema Secrets Concealer Palette at class for the longest time already, and two babies that flew in just in time for my birthday, Continue reading

MAC Makeup Artist Profile : Erika Saenz

For two days straight, I’ve been attending MAC makeup workshops facilitated by MAC Cosmetics‘ Senior Trainer, Erika Saenz. I was able to absorb alot of information and technique from her as she was very generous in sharing tips and tricks on makeup application. I was able to corner her for a few minutes to ask for our readers for Beautynomics, so here they are!

Makeup School Escapades : How A Beauty Blogger Spends Her Birthday

A birthday wish come true – longtime friend Mae agreeing to model for me!

This year’s simply been the best for me as I was able to enroll myself in makeup school and explore more my passion. This is even a better year as I turned a year older, surrounded by things that I love most!

A day before my birthday, I rushed to MAC Shangri-la to attend the MAC Bridal Workshop by Erika Saenz , Senior MAC Trainor.

Every year, Pantene hails the most beautiful, and those who get chosen are held in high esteem – goddess level, as they say! The image of Pantene’s Most Beautiful all bronzed up, gorgeous, and with their hair wet, is still very much etched in my mind. They’re just that unforgettable with their beautiful hair – makes me wanna be one of them!

Well, perhaps , I can be! Now, Pantene just opened up a contest called “Dare To Be The Most Beautiful,” which is open to all the ladies out there! Release your inner goddess, let your beauty shine, and strike that pose! Imitate the Pantene’s Most Beautiful’s pose, or be creative and have your own version! Wew. Beautynomics Review : Cargo BluRay Foundation

I don’t think I have to say much.

The picture says it all.

Decent coverage. Extremely photogenic. I apply this on top of powder foundation, or if model is lucky, this is her powder foundation given that there is only one shade available for this – which is light to medium shade in yellow tone.

I’m pretty much speechless with the effects of this, it’s pretty much “magic” in a compact!

That explains why I’m stocking up on Cargo BluRay Foundation for shoots. It’s perfection.
