At long last, my dream of going to makeup school has been fulfilled – last Friday, I was unable to sleep, all giddy, going back and forth to my room ( which I haven’t inhabited yet ) to check my makeup inventory, just because I was finally going to get formal schooling in makeup the next day.

Oh my next six Saturdays will surely be the time of my life!

Thanks to Sunsilk’s Life Can’t Wait Campaign, the dream of mine that I’ve been stalling for over two years now has finally been realized. I took the plunge, enrolled myself in Lasalle College International last April in Makeup Artistry as I prepared to be schooled. As the days drew near my first day, I was getting excited, giddy, and of course, having fears of screwing up. I’m the most nervous person on earth when it comes to failing. But this had to happen somehow.

After an absolutely sleepless night, the day finally came. Saturday was the day. It was makeup school day! Our instructor is the famed MAC Pro Artist RB Chanco, who is very, very accomplished in the makeup industry. She is the first ever Filipina to be certified as a MAC Pro Artist, and has endless impressive works for print ads, commercial shoots, fashion spreads, and weddings under her belt. I couldn’t help but be in awe of her ( she’s so prettttyyyy! ) and her accomplishments that the room was oozing with inspiration and good vibes as she promises to do her best to teach us, and help us achieve whatever we want to achieve by the end of the course.

One thing she told us that I should keep in mind – Confidence is key. To be honest, I’m not the most confident person in the world, specially with my skills in makeup – I think I’m alright but not extraordinary. But let me tell you something – I want to be extraordinary, and I will push and try to be extraordinary, at least. My heart and soul is in this 1,000%, and good thing that I have with me a good friend to share laughs and share our passion with makeup in this journey ( Thanks Jheng for being with me! ). I’m very much excited to have our first hands-on session next weekend, and I’ve never loved Saturdays this much!

Okay, I’m done with my teary-eyed speech, and I’m about to show you my initial makeup loot for makeup class. We were required by RB to get the basics, and here’s what I’ve got so far. I’ve taken pictures of makeup first, since it rained in the terrace as I was about to take pictures of my makeup tools and applicators loot!

Liquid Foundation! Bambi tells that L’Oreal True Match is really good!

Palettes! Got a Fanny Serrano Blush Palette, 4U2 Contemporary Eyeshadow Palette, and Fashion21 Matte Eyeshadow Palette.

In2it Brow Palette

Lipsticks. Oooh this is my favorite part of the loot. Half of these are mine. hahahaha!

L’Oreal Volume Boost Mascara, MAC Powerpoint Eyeliner, Artdeco Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner, and Fashion21 Liquid Eyeliner ( hmm the last one’s mine! haha! )

Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation and VOV Cream Foundation

RB asked us to bring powder foundation as well, but I think I would have to bring all my pressed mineral foundations because I am really pushing to use mineral makeup in my makeup studies, because it’s what I’m going to use if ever I get to make a career out of it. I found out that Jane Iredale’s Liquid Minerals are a bit sheer, so I am still scouting for that full-coverage liquid mineral foundation or try to get Jane Iredale’s Liquid Minerals to work for me first ( because I love it ! ). I’m glad that our instructor does not require us to get all high end brands , but rather, she recommends low-priced brands as they also work as well as their high-priced counterparts. I had no idea Fanny Serrano‘s products were a bit expensive – that palette was already 1,200php! ( about $25 )

My loot is hardly complete, and I intend to complete my loot gradually in the next coming weeks! I’m quite excited for more makeup shopping, but my wallet’s behaving like a growling tummy right now – complaining, complaining, and complaining! Haha!

Well, I shall tell you more about my Makeup School Escapades in the coming weeks my dear readers! Please do wish me luck!
