Two words : SUPER HOT.
The heat has been just simply impossible lately. And I mean it! It’s been just unable to bear, and it’s humid, and it’s sticky! See, even I am getting cranky, just bleeeaaaaym et on the heat! Haha!
The shower in the bathroom just seems to be so appealing everytime I wake up, and everytime I come home from work. I think I’d like to live there, thank you very much!
Anyway, another great body wash that I’ve tried lately is the freebie I got from the Lipton’s Feel Good Event, which is a bottle of The Body Shop Moringa Bath Gel.
For some information about “moringa,”
First used in Ayurvedic medicine some 4,000 years ago, moringa seed oil comes from the moringa tree which is also known as the ‘miracle tree’ due to its wide variety of beneficial uses.
Moringa seed oil was highly treasured by the ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian civilisations for its use in protecting skin and making perfume. The oil contains high levels of oleic acid, a fatty acid that helps to restore the skin’s moisture levels, helping to protect against drying, keeping skin feeling soft and smooth.
I was told that this product line is actually made from malunggay leaves ( our native term for moringa, perhaps? ), and I was very intrigued by it so I gave it a go.
When I first sniffed the scent, it was a lovely floral scent. Now, I’m the type of person who just hates fake scents or overpowering scents, that my bath soaps/gels in the evening are organic and have the mildest fragrance so strong frangrances don’t thrill me at all.
I’m glad that the Moringa Bath Gel has a pleasant, subtle, yet lady-like fragrance that smells just nice. For me, it’s a great morning scent to wake up to as you step into the shower to start the day. For night time , I’d prefer a more “relaxing” scent like lavender ( which reminds me, I’ve been totally addicted to Ilog Maria’s Lavender Honey Soap for my night showers, I swear , I wouldn’t even look at my bath gels during night time! ). Going back, I wish they had this in eau de toilette or body mist as I’d love to wear this fragrance during the day - very ladylike, sophisticated, but at the same time, warm and cheerful.
As for the staying power - I would have to say a few hours at its best - it doesn’t stay too long, of course, unless you layer it with the lotion. The moisturizing properties of the bath gel’s just about alright - it doesnt dry out the skin, which is good, but it still needs a moisturizer or lotion on top of it. Overall, it’s quite a nice, and unique scent to try if you love florals - you’ll surely want the scent to linger longer on your body. It’s a perfect summer scent, if I may say.

oohh, lucky lucky you sophie (for all the freebies) =)
i like this bs moringa line too! bought the shower gel and the body butter. it’s an addition to my body shop favorites. i agree about the staying power though. even if i layer it on, the scent isn’t as lasting as i expect it to be.
