REVALÉSKIN, with its revolutionary ingredient Coffeeberry, must be the next big thing in the anti-aging skin care niche, as it earns raves from top dermatologists all over the world, calling it “one of the most promising new antioxidants that came along in years”, and beauty editors calling it the “new fountain of youth.”
For some facts about Coffeeberry,
*Coffeeberry is the fruit from the coffee plant ( Coffea Arabica ), from which the commonly known coffee bean is derived.
*Coffeeberry have chlorogenic acid, condenserd proanthocyanidins, quinic acid and ferulic acid, giving it the highest Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity ( ORAC ) score, when compared to other naturally occurring antioxidants like green tea, pomegranate extract, Vitamin C and E.
Note : ORAC strikes me as the potency or the effectivity of a certain antioxidant to quench free radicals that damage our skin.
* Coffeeberry is exceptionally rich in polyphenol antioxidants which help to naturally prevent damage caused by free radical exposure and oxidative stress.
* In a study by McDaniel and Draelos from the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology , they proved that Coffeeberry can reduce wrinkles by 46%, improve skin’s softness by 64%, and 79% potency against dry skin and discoloration compared to other natural antioxidants.
I was able to have the chance to try the REVALÉSKIN Anti-Aging Skin Care Set, because well, I’m in my mid-twenties, and this is the age wherein I should be more serious about my skin care. They say that it is never too early to adapt an anti-aging skin care regimen, to at least look younger until you still can and allow skin to age gracefully, and retard the wrinkle formations and banish any signs of pigmentations ( ugh ). The challenge to us girls ( and boys, for that matter ), is to keep skin forever young and beautiful. REVALÉSKIN boasts of its coffeeberry being the most potent and effective anti-aging formulation in the market, and well, here is my review about it!
Skin Profile
First of all, let me give you my skin profile. Three of us have been given a chance to review about it. Sasha who has normal skin, Phoebe who has sensitive combination skin ( that burns and breaks out easily ) , and me, having acne-prone, open-pored, extremely oily skin.
I’m also on my second month of adapting an anti-acne regimen, using the Obagi Clenziderm system. I’ve decided to squeeze some REVALÉSKIN on my routine as I know that anti-acne topical medications are harsh, and maybe some anti-aging, or some antioxidant burst can salvage my skin from being too dry from the acne war. I’ve thought about it alot, and decided to go for it thinking that REVALÉSKIN is recommended by dermatologists ( and can only be bought from them, for that matter ).
The Review
I’ve tried all three products, somehow trying to squeeze them in my routine, and here’s what I’ve got to say about them :
REVALÉSKIN Facial Cleanser:
The REVALÉSKIN Facial Cleanser contains 0.1% Coffeeberry, and claims to “gently yet thoroughly clean, smooth, and refresh your skin.”
Being oily skinned, and open pored, my skin is a magnet to dirt every single second of the day. Hence, I need a really good cleanser that would thoroughly cleanse my skin without drying it too much. My skin type would not be able to do with a gentle cleanser because it would not clean enough. The REVALÉSKIN Facial Cleanser is creamy, and somehow feels like Cetaphil in terms of cleansing. I’m afraid that it would not work for me as I could not feel its cleansing properties because of the condition of my skin ( tsk tsk, just too much dirt haha )
I feel that this cleanser would be perfect for dry, mature, or even normal/sensitive skin that could not afford harsh cleansers to further strip skin off their natural oils. I think this would be heaven for those who want really gentle cleansers. Take it this way - girls who are of my age who love Cetaphil can switch to REVALÉSKIN for some anti-aging oomph!
So for me, I think I would not be able to use it because of the demands of my skin for a dirt,oil-melting acne-busting cleanser.
Where’s my REVALÉSKIN facial cleanser now? It’s with my mom. She tells me this is one of those cleansers that does not make her face itch - she has very, very sensitive skin.
REVALÉSKIN Day Cream With SPF 15
The REVALÉSKIN Day Cream with SPF 15 contains 1% Coffeeberry and sunscreen, “to protect and revitalize the skin all day long, even under makeup.”
Oily skinned gals have the tendency to hate applying moisturizer because of their beliefs that moisturizers make skin greasier and oilier as the day progresses. Little do they know that when they scrimp on moisturizers, the more oilier their skin becomes because of the lack of hydration of their skin, plus a nightmare sight of oily skin with dry patches. One thing that we also have to learn is applying sunblock everyday - even if it’s the laziest thing to do. Sooner or later we’ll hate ourselves for not doing so when our skin starts to wrinkle or age spots start showing.
With my lack of moisturizer, I was able to give the REVALÉSKIN Day Cream a shot. I’m okay with it since it is a moisturizer and sunblock in one already. I realized that this is a very good moisturizer ( specially for us oily skinned gals ) as it does not settle on top of the skin - it absorbs quite quickly and gives off a matte finish and feel on the skin.
I would not say that it helped control my oilies but it did not aggravate the oil production process of my skin for the day either. It settled invisibly that it was perfectly non-intrusive to my skin care regimen during the day, after using my Clenziderm Face Wash and Toner, applying the REVALÉSKIN Day Cream and spot-applying the treatment gel from Clenziderm, and applying makeup.
So, where is my REVALÉSKIN Day Cream now? It’s in my mom’s bathroom, where we share using it everyday! I use this everyday! I love it!
RevaleSkin Night Cream
The REVALÉSKIN Night Cream contains 1% Coffeeberry ” to rejuvenate your skin while you sleep.” It’s the “treat” part of the skin care that somehow “fixes” your skin as you sleep.
Night time is crucial time for me as yes, this is where the bulk of my anti-acne regimen happens. Night time is the time when skin rests and cells repair themselves, so it is always imperative to have a good night’s rest ( oh please don’t hate me for saying this even if I don’t always sleep early! hahaha! )
Anyway, with my face slathered with a mean layer of Clenziderm’s treatment gel, I am unable to apply this night cream on my entire face. But the insistent me realized that my eyes needed some tender lovin` at night, and since anti-acne gels aren’t allowed on sensitive and thin-skinned areas of the face, I just used the Night Cream under my eyes for some sort of an eye cream. Believe me, I would not want to have old-looking eyes. And the eyes sure don’t lie when they’re stressed - they add numbers to our age when not properly taken cared of.
So, where’s my REVALÉSKIN Night Cream now? It’s on the bed table, as I bug my mom every night to apply, and I also use it for my undereyes.
Results
One of the most challenging things to review is certainly skin care, because it just cannot be done overnight, unlike makeup, body gels, or fragrances that show their real colors as soon as they perform. A skin’s cycle is three months, and I have been using REVALÉSKIN products for about three weeks already, so the things I would say would still be somewhat considered as “initial impressions,” as Sasha would say it.
Well, for my skin, it’s still pretty much the same, I am still battling with acne but REVALÉSKIN did not further aggravate my condition. I’m glad that it did not make my acne worse or gave me another reason to rue the day. What unexpected results I got were two - on my nose area, I’ve noticed that my pores started getting smaller, and on my undereyes, my circles were less visible, and I would wake up in the morning not looking too tired already. I’m also glad that I get to use moisturizer, and sunblock in one already. I’ve noticed that my skin does look less tired unlike before - by a bit. Less haggard, and less dry ( even if oily. )
The big question : Would I repurchase?
These products aren’t cheap. They go about $90-$100 ( around 4,000 php ) each for the Day Cream, and Night Cream, and about $45-$50 ( around 2,000+ php ) for the Facial Cleanser.
The answer of mine would be YES, but to select products only.
One thing I’m sure of getting again is the REVALÉSKIN Day Cream because it’s just perfect for my daytime skin care routine, as it is a darling when it comes to absorption and being non-intrusive while providing anti-aging and protective benefits to the skin. I’d have to pass with the Facial Cleanser because it won’t thoroughly clean my very demanding skin, but will buy if mom asks me to ( heehee ). I’ll have to think about the Night Cream if I really want it, but if my budget’s a bit big for the month, I guess it won’t hurt for me to give my eyes some luxurious tender lovin`. So there, clearly, the Day Cream won me over.
Overall, I was inspired to take some steps on anti-aging, perhaps do something about my skin because clearly, I’m just not getting any younger. Aside from the environmental factors that cause our skin to age, there’s also emotional and mental stress that just causes us to look old and feel old! I’d want to stay forever young, and at least this is one of the things that I can do to make me feel younger, for a bit longer. And maybe play with my baby sister a bit more often! Heehee.

Hey!
I tried the Day and Night Cream of REVALE skin some time ago… I agree with you on the Day Cream; it is very light and settles in fast. I really liked it, however I could not stand the smell of it, so I gave it to my Mom, hahaha!

My olfactory senses might be a little off, but I don’t smell anything offensive. I have been using this for a couple of months and love it. CoffeeBerry does seem to be the new buzz word in the derms’ offices.
