Summer’s such a cheerful weather as it supplies me with endless sunshine, and warmth, but the heat.

Ugh, the heat! The heat has been impossible to deal with lately that lets me dress down, scrimp on makeup application, and be more generous with applying SPF like a lotion.

One of my favorite, and absolutely luxurious pastimes lately, has been taking a shower. Oh yes, blissful showers.

That’s why for the next few entries, I will be reviewing bath products! Just because they’re what I’ve been checking out, and shopping for lately. This weather sure has triggered my fancy for fresh, and fragrant body products such as bath gels, bath salts and scrubs, and whatever there is that can be used to make me feel fresh and help me feel sunshiney, just like the weather!

So, my first review for my Summer Showers Series : The Ilog Maria Lavender Honey Soap.

Last weekend, we visited Ilog Maria Bee Farm in Cavite just before heading for the beach. It was a paradise full of organic beauty products, and with all the soaps available, I had to choose which ones I would want to try. I got myself the standard sizes, for 35 bucks ( around a dollar or so ) each and chose alot of variants.

But I’d have to say, the one that captivated my olfactory senses would be the Ilog Maria Lavender Honey Soap. It smelled the best, and most pleasant. Lingering enjoyable floral scent, I must say, unlike the strong, pure lavender concentrates there in the market that I would close my eyes as I sniff them, ignoring the smell, just hoping for an effect - sleepiness. The scent of Ilog Maria’s Lavender Soap is enjoyable to the senses that you’ll just love for the wonderful scent.

Well, as I stepped in the shower and treated myself in a midnight bath ( that I always do now, because it just feels icky !!!! ), I tried this. Yes, it smelled good, alright, and it fared just like normal soap with the normal lather. My skin felt absolutely fresh right after my bath, and I am thinking that the honey would have been responsible for the somewhat moisturized effect ( though not ultimately ) that made my skin not look so scaly or ripped off its natural oils after - but of course, a lotion or body oil after the bath is still needed to keep skin soft and supple.

The truth is - this is a delightful bar of soap, more delightful because it’s organic, and more more delightful because of the scent. A standard bar would last you about two weeks at most if used everyday, and I would recommend this to be used just in time for bedtime.

Why? Because this has been the reason why my bedtime’s been rescheduled earlier ( unplanned, though ) for the past three days last week. I felt so sleepy after!!! And I didn’t even really believe in aromatherapy to aid in sleeping because I’ve had the worst sleeping problems, that I take medication.

I think I’d be getting more bars of these because I’m almost done with bar # 1 *wink*
