I’ve been coloring my hair since I was in highschool because of some stubborn gray hair. I think I’ve tried everything - from henna, to cellophane, DIY’s from semi-permanent to permanent, and those done professionally at a salon.
Well, I just can’t keep on going back to the salon to have my hair retouched for two reasons - I don’t have enough time to go to the salon on a regular basis, and I think if I have my hair retouched at a salon everytime, I think it’d cost alot. A whole lot. So come DIY home treatments.
The best so far I’ve tried is Clairol’s Nice n’ Easy. I love how it “stays” on stubborn gray hair ( because there are some hair color brands that just wash out in a matter of days and don’t hold up on gray hair. ), and how pretty the shades are and how it just covers well. My current color’s Light Golden Brown, and I love how it looks, specially when I’m under the sun. Quite a gorgeous shade that softened my features, because my usual shade was just a dark brown.
And may we discuss the possible side-effects of hair color, which are that hair might dry up and just look too fried because of the chemicals, and more hair damage. To be honest, I love the way my hair looks and feels right now. It looks absolutely soft. My hair’s in waves right now as the rebond treatment’s wearing up ( that explains me in a pony tail ) , but my bangs feel and look soft !

Very very good. I can never take the thought away from my mind that once hair is colored, it gets infused with chemicals, and as it reacts with the sun, just like in our Chemistry classes, heat+chemicals=fire, or burning. The less damaging the hair color is, the better. But of course, it wouldn’t hurt to use SPF on the hair for added protection.
Overall, hair coloring is one process that can make our hair look more beautiful, and accentuate our features better. But of course, we must pick what’s best for us - in terms of how products work on us, and do not forget to maintain - use conditioner daily to keep hair moisturized, soft, smooth, and intense treatment weekly!
