BOB - It’s screaming, just about everywhere, thanks to La Beckham’s trendsetting prowess, that she managed to start an obsession about the “it” hairstyle of the moment. Followers include Rihanna, Katie Holmes, and even Paris Hilton.
A few weeks ago I was gushing over how pretty Paris Hilton’s new ‘do was, but with the texture of my hair ( which was coarse and thick ), it would be horribly high maintenance for me to have my hair cut like that. So, I let go of the thought and started growing my hair long for maybe a perm by June.
Guess who outdid me, and sneaked into Paris’ new ‘do.
None other than my unbelievably vain sister, JULIET. ( which my pen name’s inspired from , a eureka moment when I caught her once with blue eyeshadow all over her lids. The “mime” makeup’s another story altogether pfft haha ).
Story has it that when I was in a sleep overdose yesterday, my sister Juliet, fresh from her first Holy Communion , asked to have her hair cut after eating lunch outside, and before she let the stylist do the usual trim, my sister Candy caught her flipping through a magazine, showing the stylist Paris Hilton’s new ‘do , instructing the stylist that she wants that style.
And she’s only nine years old. In 2nd grade. Goodness!
When the cut commenced, she even whispered a plea of discontent to my sister Candy why her bangs weren’t longer than her hair. Maybe she saw Paris’ latest hair style with longer bangs ( ala Posh bob ). My sister carefully explained ( before Juliet could freak out haha ) that Juliet had short bangs way before and it was impossible to replicate that certain hair style with short bangs.
For the record, I’m envious of Juliet’s hair - the texture’s really, really fine, and Paris Hilton’s hairdo would be just as easy as pie for her. Well, here’s to my cutiepie sister and her new ‘do!
P.S. I wasn’t able to take really good shots of her new hair because like Hollywood stars, Juliet is very very elusive and camera shy ( actually , no. Camera-hostile. My cam might die when she catches me taking her pic. Haha ). So there, you can see that it was taken by a phone cam, my sister’s. I even bribed her , to be able to take a good shot of her hair, I’d lend her my phone. And she just told me, “but your phone’s boring.” Oh men.
