Even Novelists Have Signature Fragrances, Too!

Here’s a confession – I grew up falling in love with novels. Yes, exquisite romance novels.

It’s nothing new that celebrities are coming up with their signature fragrances, but authors, novelists, well , they’re just new to me!

Danielle Steele has her own fragrance, too, called “Danielle,”, and is described as,

like her novels, this is a timeless, luxurious balance of strength and femininity

Sounds intriguing! I’d love to have my hands on these to try. And then my mind drifts off if one day, I would have the chance to “sniff” the spirit of authors Johanna Lindsey, Sandra Brown, and Judith McNaught. I mean honestly, I just love their novels, it sure would be interesting how they’d translate into scent. Perhaps twould inspire me to write more, too! Haha!

CLEAR Dares You To Wear Black, On Valentines Day!

Dare to wear black this Valentine’s Day?

Dare. Only if you’re dandruff free. Move closer, anytime.

Drat, did I just say that? Hahaha! I must just be too carried away with CLEAR‘s new commercial featuring my one ( of three HAHAHA ) true love, Piolo Pascual.

The commercial’s just so darn sexy and provocative. Black happens to be my favorite color.

Anyway, CLEAR’s in the market for a good few months already! Any feedback on the product? I mean, I like it! It keeps flakes at bay, alright. How about you? I’d love to hear from you!

My Dermatologist’s My Shrink, and Backne Problem Solved!

One thing that I’ve realized in the past few months is that well, I’ve been treating my dermatologist like…a shrink ( hahaha! ). I’d be amused when I watch scenes in movies when the leads rant about their lives to their psychiatrist.

Well, it seems that I’ve been doing that to my dermatologist. I’ve been rambling for over half an hour on how breakouts affect my self esteem, and how my skin purging ruined my Holidays. Yes, Holiday stress was just insane, I swear I’m going to get enough sleep from now on and never overwork. ( Well, just a little, okay! ).

So after she listens to my ramblings she reminds me to visit her at least once a month for maintenance to ensure proper cell renewal via diamond peeling and cleaning, too. The medicine she prescribed me also helped tremendously dry up the problem areas. ( backtrack : my skin broke out last December ).

Anyway, let me share my latest discovery to you girls! Last December, I was asking if she had any idea on how to treat backne ( back acne ) since I get these once in a while, when I’m really, really stressed. She pulled out a tall bottle, and asked me to apply it on my back every day after I take a bath, using a cotton ball. Well, it was worth a try, considering I’ve tried alot of anti-backne products out there.

Beauty Bloggers’ Day Out, and Getting Smitten With a Marimar ‘Do

I’m sorta late for reporting about my very fun weekend with my beauty blogger girlfriends, Phoebe and Sasha. When three beauty bloggers flock together, well, all I can say is that the major topic that are discussed are all about beauty, and fashion ( since I’m also getting tips from these two fashion savvy girls, oh, I need it, love them ). Topics discussed were boots, skirts, eye creams, shades, hair cuts, and oh, ALOT! It was so much fun spending the day with these girls, as we grabbed some lunch, got some coffee and had some chitchat, went to a meeting ( for a possible event, ) and last but not the least, spent our free remaining time shopping and being pampered in the salon ( oh, heaven! ).

Went to F Salon, the salon inside First Aid, in Greenbelt 3.

Some pictures,

As Phoebe and Sasha had their fabulous cuts, I had my eyebrows and upper lip threaded by Marissa. Boy, she made me cry, but did a great job nonetheless. I’d recommend getting your brows fixed by her anytime, because there are other salons that offer threading but don’t even do it well (bad experience, take it from me ) It was also very affordable, considering the location to be at Greenbelt 3, my bill was only 300 bucks.

Beautynomics Review : Lancome Effacil Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

As part of my from-now-to-eternity vow to take care of my eyes ( believe me, my eyes have been scratch-free for weeks now ), my eyes are now now spoiled with luxuriously moisturizing eye creams day and night, as well as them being left unscratched, or un-rubbed as much as possible. With the promise of gentle pressure to be applied when dealing with the eye area, I thought about the activity that I usually indulge in by the end of the day – that is, remove my makeup, particularly my eye makeup.

Last year was such a colorful year for me, and my eyes. For me in the sense that I was able to explore new opportunities and gain new friends ( mineral makeup addicts aylovyow! ), for my eyes in such a way that I’ve gone out of my comfort zone and started being highly experimental with eye makeup. Foiling vibrant hues of red, bronze, plum, and even blue! And yes, it is quite a challenge to remove by the end of the day.

My usual remove-my-makeup routine is that I apply a layer of Cetaphil on my face, and wipe away with tissue, and repeat, and wash my face with facial cleansing gel afterwards. There are still remnants of eye makeup after that but the toner does its job by removing it. I must admit that there is rubbing involved , using the cotton ball because eye makeup can be quite a challenge to remove. So there, I am just about to introduce to you all the product that really, really relieved my eyes of that extra pressure : Lancome Effacil Gentle Eye Makeup Remover.

This Kid Outdid Me With Paris Hilton’s New Hairstyle

BOB – It’s screaming, just about everywhere, thanks to La Beckham’s trendsetting prowess, that she managed to start an obsession about the “it” hairstyle of the moment. Followers include Rihanna, Katie Holmes, and even Paris Hilton.

A few weeks ago I was gushing over how pretty Paris Hilton’s new ‘do was, but with the texture of my hair ( which was coarse and thick ), it would be horribly high maintenance for me to have my hair cut like that. So, I let go of the thought and started growing my hair long for maybe a perm by June.

Guess who outdid me, and sneaked into Paris’ new ‘do.

None other than my unbelievably vain sister, JULIET. ( which my pen name’s inspired from , a eureka moment when I caught her once with blue eyeshadow all over her lids. The “mime” makeup’s another story altogether pfft haha ).

MAC Face Charts for NY Fashion Week

The NY Fashion Week is just around the corner, and as my co beauty bloggers are making arrangements on covering the events backstage and get the chance to chit chat with the makeup artist, I am on the lookout for their latest news and coverage.

Thanks to MAC, they have provided us with some face charts to be used by their makeup artists backstage during NY Fashion Week. Budding makeup artists or girls who just want to be creative with makeup might get some inspiration out of these face charts and learn from it. These looks are for spring and summer. Most products used are from the N Collection, MAC’s latest collection, though I saw some from the Fafi Collection and classic ones.

Here they are!

Thou Shall Take Great Care of Zee Eyes

The eye area’s just one of the most delicate parts of the face. The skin’s way thinner there, and it’s the first to wrinkle as we age *sob, sob*.

The eyes are also the most beautiful part of us because as the cliche goes, the eyes are the windows to one’s soul. They tell a story of who you are, and what kind of a person you are. ( I believe this to be true, actually. ).

The eyes are also powerful tools of seduction, eh? I just wish I knew how to use them with that certain intention in mind *snicker *

Well, lately, I’ve been feeling that I need to take that trivia seriously because photos never lie. I just saw several photos of me smiling foolishly ( my favorite pose haha ) with LINES around my eyes.

WTH! That couldn’t be I’m only twenty-bleep! Then I remember, there must be something that I’ve been doing wrong.

Elseve Color Vive Protecting Conditioner

I’ve been addicted to L’Oreal Elseve hair products ever since they’ve landed here in Manila. I mean, wow. It’s the reason that my Kerastase Oleo Relax Masque is still half-full that I would be able to save it for more special occasions ( teehee ).

A reader requested me to review the Elseve Color-Vive line, which is the red variant of Elseve. I’d like to review first, the Elseve Color-Vive Protecting Conditioner. It’s the tall conditioner that is to be used everyday.
