Note : I really really liked this entry so I cross posted it from my local beauty blog! Let me just share this to my international readers.

If you read today’s issue of Manila Bulletin ( Friday, August 10, 2007 ), you won’t be seeing the usual everyday news about the nation – lookie, lookie, I’ve even scanned the newspaper!

The headline says, ” RP Battles with Dandruff : 44% of Filipinos Have It” It’s definitely a fresh change from the usual headlines that I have been reading everyday. No political jargons “solon”, ” moratorium”, etc. If I would have those headlines to greet me everyday, then I would be more motivated to read my daily newspaper !

Well, Manila Bulletin hasn’t gone overboard yet, don’t you worry, for this is just CLEAR Dandruff Shampoo’s spread , which is filled with scientific facts, statistics, and articles about dandruff. It’s sort of a “jacket” of the newspaper, and as you remove the spread, your regular headlines are still there. No, beauty addicts haven’t invaded the Manila Bulletin Office to come up with headlines like these everyday. ( But hey, that’s a great idea! )

What I learned from this informative spread? Let me enumerate :

* Malassezia, is a kind of fungus, that is most likely to cause dandruff , as it feeds on the lipids of the human scalp.
* Dandruff is a phenomenon wherein the dead skin cells of the scalp are shedding unusually fast, caused by the fungus malassezia, that causes itchiness and flakes.
* Dandruff is a primary ( #1, as the research claims ) problem among men and women in the Philippines.
* Dandruff, if left untreated, can cause serious problems in the long run such as hair loss , baldness, and cause hair to be damaged and weak.
* Dandruff does not only make you look bad ( as if you practice poor personal hygiene ), it makes you feel bad – thus, it affects your social life negatively.
* Dandruff can affect you psychologically, and give you self esteem issues.
* Males have oilier scalps, and it is more prone to hair loss and dry hair.

What’s impressive about this spread is that the articles are backed up by actual studies, and statistics. I’m quite impressed with the marketing team of CLEAR for coming up with this idea.

I have featured CLEAR in one my first entries in this blog, and you can read about it here.

So far, rave reviews about this just-launched dandruff shampoo in the market are growing and growing, as it promises to solve the dandruff problem in our country.

Less itchies, more productivity? I sure hope so!
