Orly Bonder

orly bonderAs I ventured into nail care territory a month ago, expect more entries about..well, my nail escapades! My nail polish collection has boomed into a scary number (well, not really, but for a newbie, it’s alot! ), and well, what’s a better way to maximize those pretty colors ? Getting a great base coat, of course!

Orly Bonder has got to be the best base coat there is. As you apply it on your nails, it dries instantly, as if there is no trace of polish on your nails.

My manicure has significantly stayed longer with Orly Bonder, and a complementing top coat, Orly No Chip.

Overthinking me thinks that the word Bonder is associated with this base coat bonding together nailpolish, the base and top coats to make it really really long lasting. Haha!

This is why I always bring my own stuff when having my mani-pedi done!

Whole Foods Body Care Line : 365 !

whole foods soap A few years ago, my skin , I mean body skin was in total agony because my back was infested with nasty acne. It wasn’t a great feeling because I couldn’t wear those glorious backless dresses that I had in my closet.

Until I found the answer to my problem – natural, and organic products! I shyed away from commercial soaps, and used either water-based or natural soaps, like Nu Skin Liquid Body Bar or Ilog Maria’s soaps. Just now, I have another discovery, and boy, are they inexpensive!

Whole Foods Markets are all over America, and they are the one-stop shop for everything natural, organic, or nature-friendly. Now, they’ve come up with their own body care line called 365 – all natural, not tested on animals, and very very inexpensive, the type that you’d use…365 days a year! ( Now, that’s a variation from the term “24/7″! )

Summer Hair Fragrance

pure petal fragrance summer hair
Summer is the best time of the year. Everything’s bright, the sun’s up, and the atmosphere is as jolly as the good ol sun!

Of course, let’s not forget the scorching heat that awaits us, and sometimes too much heat would make the fragrant stuff we used during our shower wear off, and make them smell bad. Oh, I hate that, I hate that. So in turn, certain fragrances must be used to keep us fresh and happy!

As summer kicks off, I usually steer clear from powdery scents and switch to fresh, fruity scents. Pure Petal Hair Fragrance in Summer Passion is my pick for keeping the hair fresh, and fragrant all day without the heaviness of perfume scents. It’s light, it’s airy, and passion fruit’s one of the loveliest scents I’ve ever tried.

When the word “fruity” is mentioned, one must think that it’s only for kids – a big nah for that. There are great fruity scents that are bordering from sweet to sensual, like grapefruit ( my numero uno favorite scent as of now ) and passion fruit! One word for this must be perfect. Perfect for summer. =)

And one last word, of course, we wouldn’t want to risk our hair being “fried” in the sun with alcohol-based fragrances right? Pure Petal hears our hair’s pleas for an alcohol-free hair fragrance and further nourishes it with moisturizing ingredients! Yipee!

The Anti Aging Pillow!

anti aging pillow

I’ve seen anti-aging regimens come in forms of anti-aging creams and serums , dermatological treatments like botox, vitamins, but it’s the first time that I’ve learned that an anti-aging practice could be in the form of…a pillow?

Yes, there are alot of ways of keeping ourselves looking young, and using the right pillow is one of them, according to Dr. Cynthia Boxrud, cosmetic plastic surgeon and professor at UCLA.
Sleeping is indispensable because our sleeping time is when our body does its heal and repair function ( Oops, I’m guilty of lacking sleep! ). But then, notice the marks on our faces when we wake up? They might disappear in a few minutes after we shower, but I just learned that they might cause wrinkles in the long run! Oh no!

Pick of the Week : Skinceuticals Affect Daily SPF 20

skinceuticals affect sunscreen I’ve been avoiding sunscreens for like, forever. Why ? First, because I feel that they’re icky and sticky. Second, I feel that they would make my skin oilier. Third, they don’t jive well with makeup. Either they don’t glide well, or I get this white cast on my picture when I wear sunscreen. All those thoughts banished from my memory effective a week ago, the moment I tried Skinceuticals Affect Daily SPF 20.

I’ve opted buying moisturizers with sunscreen with the hope of skipping applying sunscreen – I’ve been doing this for ages. When the PR for Skinceuticals contacted me for a review for Melanoma May, I kept an open mind despite my initial thoughts about wearing sunscreen. Heck, I only wear sunscreen on the face when I go to the beach, when it is most crucial, and it didn’t feel good!
