I must be one of the people who blogged late about this event. Gosh, pc’s in my house have been giving up on me – my trusty destkop pc is being reformatted at the local pc repair shop, and my laptop had been hogged by my little sister who needed to type until the wee hours of the morning for her final papers! So now, at long last, I can blog! Hahaha!

I attended the Philippine Blog Awards ’07 last Saturday, and of course preparation was nowhere near just okay. Mineral makeup, check. Blow dryer, check. Illuminators/highlighters, check. Black ensemble, check. Bronze stilettos and Bronze shoulder bag, check. Okay, breathe. Anyway, upon arriving on the venue as the elevator’s doors opened on the 4th floor , I felt that I was stepping in a whole new world – totally unfamiliar to me. (Maybe it was just my first time to do this , since it’s my first time to be recognized as a finalist for such a prestigious award) There were a multitude of bloggers chatting and mingling with each other, groups , and I just realized that boy, there are alot of Filipino bloggers out there! Was a little bit too shy to actually mingle around, and I was more observant rather than being sociable. It just might be that I am in awe of this world that is presented to me – full of people with passion for writing, and expressing their thoughts, sharing a piece of oneself to the world – just as we are, Filipinos, being very loving and giving people. Even I, would give my lipstick to someone really in need of it. Or share my tanning oil.
So, okay, aside from my awestruck sentiments, I’m proud to show you my prize for the night. No, I didn’t win the award for Best Fashion & Lifestyle Category – Bryanboy did ( Congratulations !!! ), or the Adobe Suite that I was meditating for ( gosh, this is so embarrassing ), but then, while walking around, alone, while waiting for my buddy Roanne, I saw Bryanboy, being photographed by alot of people. I froze. Gosh, only the blog that I have been religiously reading! I just wanna say that it’s my oober favorite blog that makes me laugh out loud while reading the entries. I worship it! And okay, despite my super shy vibe last Saturday, I braved it, and asked Bryanboy if I could take a picture of him with me! And he said yes. YAY!!! So there, presenting my prize for the night, my super duper wooper prized photo, that I’ll forever cherish!

I actually got to hear his voice and it was exactly just like from his podcasts. Ang kulit. Coolness!
Here’s a picture of Roanne and me that I got from haravata.com ( thanks Chris! )

Well, I enjoyed the Awards Night, alright! I went to Greenbelt to meet up with college friends afterwards and party the night away. But before that, I just had to make one teeny weeny pitstop at First Aid to buy myself Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails nailpolish in these two really nice colors : Sheer Ivory, and Sheer Pink ( I’ll be blogging about these two soon ), and convinced Roanne to try my uber favorite Kerastase Oleo Relax Masque, in which she gave in after my nonstop praises for it.

That’s it for now! Congratulations to the winners and organizers!( Freaked out when I learned that Anton, one of my favorite reads for my foodtrip references, came! ) Tata my friends!

hi Sophie!!
just dropping by… nice site!!
Hi, Chris!
Thank you for the lovely photo !
[...] Blogsphere: TechnoratiFeedsterBloglinesBookmark: Del.icio.usSpurlFurlSimpyBlinkDiggRSS feed for comments on this post | TrackBack URI for this post I’ve never been a fragrance addict, but I do keep a really small collection of scents that I really like. I think that Neutrogena’s Body Oil is the best smelling body oil on earth, and I am endlessly enchanted by the alluring scent of Estee Lauder’s Pleasures and the classy scent of Oleo Relax from Kerastase , and even love the cheap thrill of the squeaky clean scent of Green Cross’ green variant. I keep a select few, but this new discovery, is simply amazing. During the Philippine Blog Awards, while Roanne and I were chatting endlessly about SEO, blogs, and even makeup, I happened to sniff this really really familiar scent – reminiscent of my childhood, perhaps? It smelled like…COTTON CANDY! Gosh, I’ve been looking so hard for fragrances that smelled like cotton candy, without the overpowering scent whatsoever. And then, I asked Roanne if she could smell something nice in the area. She told me it might be her perfume, and I asked her to lemme see it – ahh…Philosophy’s Falling In Love. It smelled very light, and it made me dizzy with delight. Very much like cotton candy, but very subtle and just right for the lady’s olfcatory senses. I found this interesting description from Johnlewis.com: A sexy, sensual fragrance described by Philosophy as ‘a creative blend of sweet, delectable vanilla top notes, graceful floral middle notes, and musky blackberry bottom notes’. Wooo! Vanilla, that figures the sweet sweet scent! Mixed with floral scents, it just made the sweetness not too overpowering, but feminine. Roanne, on the other hand, told me that Amazing Grace was a better scent, but heck, I’m sure getting Falling In Love the moment I get the chance to go to the Beauty Bar this coming weekend. Happy Easter everyone! No Tags Posted in Fragrance, Reviews [...]
