Oh, soleil, soleil! I just love the sun, during summertime! The most fun time of the year is officially here, and get ready to pack your bags to go to the beach, bask in the sun , get a great tan, and get splashed by the cool, cool waters of the sea!
Of course, to make the most out of this absolutely enjoyable season, we have another set of beauty essentials to pack for our travel kits ! This is simply to maximize the utility we get from summer, without experiencing the ouchies, and potential damage that can be brought about by the sun. The sun can be both friend or foe, depending on how you look at it! As for me, the sun is my best friend this year! I went to Boracay , and indulged myself in sun bathing, and I got home with a beautiful tan as a result of my careful packing of sun-essentials! I say, keep on the sun’s good side, and you’ll never go wrong! How? Check out my product recommendations below!
For the body, you might want to indulge in a relaxing, gratifying sun bathing session on the beach. My best bud passed on to me a great secret, and I’m about to tell!
The Nivea Tanning Oil ( or Sunspray ) is one of the best products to achieve that perfect tan on the beach ! Not to mention that it really looks sexy on the body because it’s oil!
A word of caution , though, because of its low SPF ( I think this is just 4! ), it might be really helpful to apply a coat of Sunblock before applying tanning oil! Get an SPF 30-45 Sunblock like Coppertone’s! Just to save yourself from the devastatingly yeowchy sunburn!
Don’t forget sunblock for the face! L’Oreal’s UV Perfect is widely used today as something that could protect the face from the harmful rays of the sun.
Gorgeous tans are always fun to strut around, because with all your bronze beauty, you just seem like so much fun – fully in the spirit of summer. But of course, we must be careful not to get too burned!
For burns, our first aid remedy? My ever trustworthy Hawaiian Tropics Aloe Relief Gel. Gives off a minty, cooling feeling that refreshes and further soothes the burnt areas of the skin. Really, even itchies are gone when I apply this. Of course, it must be applied on clean skin, or else, it would feel really sticky!
Okay, with the golden glow that you have from the beach, too much dead skin cells are produced, and you just might want to indulge in a body scrub. It’s important to use non-abrasive body scrubs because it might be painful if you don’t! Nu Skin’s Liquid Body Lufra is non-abrasive, very gentle, and will help you get new, fresh skin again!
Okay, so we’ve tackled the body and the face already, what else? Definitely, the hair! The hair, is so prone to damage this summer, that always keep in mind to use leave on conditioners! My favorite summer product? Definitely Sunsilk’s Summer Fresh Line (picture, to follow ), complete with shampoo and conditioner. Refreshing, soft, and silky. That’s more like it.
For girls with colored or chemically treated hair, you gotta be extra careful for hair dye/chemical + sun = damage, more on b-u-r-n-t-h-a-i-r!! Get one of these, and you’ll never go wrong ! After all, we must protect our crowning glory at all costs!
