I just want to share this with everyone, because this is a Beauty Blog, and beautiful people oughta be featured here too! This weekend, two lovely ladies who have kept humble amidst their worldwide fame have visited to my country to do some charity work and reunite with their friends.
Number 1 : Monique Lhuillier
I doubt you don’t know her! She has got to be one of the most successful and brilliant fashion designers of today - whose creations are worn by Hollywood A-list celebrities such as Angelina Jolie,Janet Jackson, Meg Ryan, Mariah Carey, Debra Messing, Diane Lane,
, Sarah Jessica Parker, Zhang Ziyi, and even made wedding dresses for Kevin Costner’s bride Christine, Britney Spears, Lea Salonga, and TBoz of the singing group TLC.
Well, what is she doing here for the weekend? Besides visiting her parents, the illustrious family of the Lhuillier jewellers, she came here for a cause - for charity. A fashion show was held last Saturday, November 12 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, featuring her latest collections from the recent New York Fashion Week, with proceeds going to the Asia Society and Bantay Bata 163. Now, isn’t that great? Hollywood’s hottest designer is proudly raising the Philippine flag, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Number 2 : Dayanara Torres
She is the most beautiful Miss Universe for me. Besides a trivial fact that she is Mark Anthony’s ex wife, she has a whole lot of history with my country way before she became famous for being his wife ( and ex , now ). When Dayanara came over the Philippines to crown the next Miss Universe way back dyring the early 90’s, she was offered a TV series here, and some movie projects and stayed a good’ol 4 years. She even almost married ex-beau Aga Mulach, one of the hearthrobs in the Movie Industry here. She has definitely left her heart in Manila, and she was back last weekend at SOP, a noontime variety show held every Sunday. I hope she could stay longer, but I’m thinking that the world is waiting for her to share her talent to - specially in Hollywood.
So, was it a beautiful week after all? Indeed it is. Beauties graced the land, and I was Sleeping Beauty - sleeping the day away from my week-long stressful activities.
Seeya tom! Tata for now!
