anti-aging I’ve been told that an anti-ageing regimen should be adopted during our mid-twenties so that we wouldn’t have to worry about the problem when it starts to show the moment we hit thirty. I’m in my mid-twenties right now, but still, I think that I’m still too lazy to adopt an anti-ageing regimen. I mean, I had my skin checked at the Nu Skin Office (c/o my Nu Skin junkie friend) , and the Visia results showed that I had zero sun damage in my skin ( Cool! ), even if I wasn’t really vigilant about wearing sunblock. Good thing that my mineral makeup provided sun protection, then! I didn’t even care so much about sunblock (sometimes, I don’t even like my moisturizer ) Haha!

Well, upon reading an article in Cosmo and Marie Claire about wrinkles, and anti-ageing practices, I suddenly froze. I tried to recall how old I was ( I stopped counting since I turned twenty ), and realized, I was not in my EARLY twenties, I’m slowly moving into the MID-twenty category! Gosh, tons of realizations rushed into my system – I absolutely NEEDED to act before my laugh lines, wrinkles, and tons of aging symptoms show! Not that I’m afraid to age, or what. Heck, I am excited about growing older! I get to progress in my career, I get to get married, I get to have children, and get that content look in my mom’s face one day. Who wouldn’t want to live life? But I just had to live it with a beautiful face. Hahaha!

So, these are my mid-twenties resolution for anti-aging. God knows I have to fulfill all of these, or else, I’ll never be able to forgive myself!

1. Moisturize absolutely everyday

I know. Sometimes, the weather gets so icky that moisturizers tend to get less appealing to me. But moisturizers keep skin supple, and hydrate it to the nth power, and is the most important step in anti-aging. Even if my face is oily, I still need to moisturize! I might want to get a separate moisturizer at night to aid in skin repair. In the morning, I’d still choose to keep it light, with SPF of course. No more Moisture Mist as substitute! ( Moi is guilty ! Haha! )

2. Include sunblock in my everyday routine.

I never never want to have age spots, EVER!!!! I’ve always felt that sunblock gets to deserve my attention every summer, when I hit the beach with friends. With the age-spots scare, perhaps I should start choosing products with SPF. Mineral makeup’s got SPF, so I’m safe in the cosmetics arena, so my moisturizer’s gotta have SPF. Maybe get a separate tube of sunblock!

3. Smile More

Frowning can make us all develop wrinkles. Blech. Enough said. I’m smiling all the way! Besides, smiling is a great way to start and end a day. You get to have a good disposition and outlook in life. Smile, and the world smiles with you!

4. Sleep Early

Sleep is the ultimate ally of anti-aging routines. Whenever we sleep, our body’s cells are being repaired. I just hate it when I don’t get enough sleep. My skin looks horrible! I don’t want to age having bad skin!

6. Get an Eye Cream

Yes, get an eye cream! Boo for wrinkles around the eyes!!!

7. Take supplements with anti-oxidants
When we age, our skin starts to sag, and skin starts to lose its elasticity and firmness. Anti-oxidants are the best way to keep ourselves beautiful because they keep the skin firm. I just need to make anti-oxidants an important word in my dictionary. Haha! Aside from supplements , certain fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants! Some of them are berries, green leafy vegetables , nuts, tomatoes, etc.

8. Try to relax

Overworking is my favorite pastime. So….I need to slow down my pace if I don’t want to look like an old hag one day!

9. Indulge in sports

I’ve neglected my favorite sports ever since I entered the workforce. How I miss swimming! Sports help you keep fit, and healthy! Certainly makes you feel young, too. I better get a swimsuit again for my training! ( not the bikinis! Haha! )

Well, that’s all I could think of right now! Maybe when some more thoughts pop out in my mind, I’d add them! What about you? What’s your anti-aging resolution? Tell us!

I agree that these tips are applicable to anyone. In regards to using eye cream, I’d recommend something called, “Eye Treatment Complex” SPF 8. It contains vitamins C and E that act as powerful antioxidants. Watch those wrinkles be gone within a short few months. Please explore more products like this one at http://www.murad.com/anti-aging-products.html

I agree with the antioxidants…Antioxidants are scavengers for free radicals/reactive oxygen species and these destroy cells and prevents cell renewal making us look older (thank heavens that those biochem lessons in med school can be applied to our kikay obesssion). Vit A, C and E are the key! So sisters, load up on these vitamins :)

@ the Nu Skin ofc @ Ortigas. If you want, I can contact my friend who works there to reserve a slot for you since you need to reserve your slot for the day. It’s pretty inexpensive, considering it’s only like a hundred and eighty bucks? ( $ 3+ ? hehe )
