So, okay, shoot me, I totally broke my promise for the week vowing not to buy anything to feed my vivaciously vain cravings. My latest purchase for the week was an 8-piece sample set of Bare Escentuals glimmers ( on sale! ) from my local seller-friend, Claudine, who owns Bare Beauty Online. I know, I’ve been trying to control myself from getting myself makeup, but these shiny wonders really make my knees weak! I mean, why not?
Let me count the ways! First, I love the colors. I’m the type who really loves shiny and glimmery eye makeup, and this, I must say, is my cup of tea. It somehow adds some “sparkle” and life to my eyes.
They have beautiful shades, some of them are, Heart (beautiful rosey pink ), Beautiful Lisa ( the most candyish pink I’ve ever tried, a sure winner! ), Envy ( a gorgeoussss bright green ), True Gold ( shiny shiny gold! extremely wearable! ), Queen Phyllis ( a gorgeous golden yellow shade ), and Queen Tiffany (It’s the loveliest fusion of copper and brown I’ve ever tried ). There are tons of rave-worthy shades, and I can’t mention them all because I’d end up mentioning every shade! ( which can lull you to sleep. Haha! )
If you want to check out all the shades, the BE Addicts website has a collection of photos of some Bare Escentuals glimmer shades ( as well as the whole product line!). Just click on the link of the specific eye color, and you’ll see a photo of the shade! Take note, that they look a little bit matte on the picture, but I assure you that they look so shimmery when you apply them on your eyes!
Second, glimmers are highly pigmented. Of course, you would need a good eyeshadow primer such as the Urban Decay Primer Potion to “hold” the minerals because they’re loose in nature, but you would find yourself only swiping the lid of the jar for eyeshadow application! 1/8 teaspoon is enough to last you for a month’s everyday use! Haha!
Third, they can be used two ways - be it dry - to create a sheer, casual shimmery look, or wet - the term “foiled” is used because glimmers are more emphasized, look more vivid, and more metallic when used wet. Cool!
Lastly, they glide on smoothy, and doesn’t cause any cakiness on the eye area. They’re incredibly sheer, it’s just like magic spread on your eye area. I loooove it!
I think I’ve collected 20+ glimmer shades, and I intend to add some more to my growing collection! Drat, I’ve been trying to take pictures of the shades that I’ve applied on the back of my hand, but I just can’t make it look good! I have to learn some good photography to share more stuff here! Haha!
Anyway, have a great weekend everyone!
