Keira Knightley, Acne, and You

keira knightleyPirates of the Caribbean 2 is now showing, and one of the most gorgeous faces in Hollywood today, Keira Knightley, is on the limelight again. I mean, when was she never talked about? She’s so beautiful, she pulls off the most seductive smokey eye makeup I’ve ever seen, and she acts pretty well with that cute Brittish accent. Now, who would ever believe that she has a severe case of acne?

Would you?

Cheeky Pop and Blush Application!

cheeky popI’ve always been inlove with these very girly-packaged blushes by Sephora-housed Pop Beauty. One swipe, and that’s it! These are so pigmented that it’d last you a lifetime. Well, a lifetime depending on its shelf life, I suppose! They come in two popular shades, Sunrise, with hints of peach , and Sunset , which is more on pink shades. I don’t need to say much about this brand because everyone just needs to rush to the mall to buy this. Not to brainwash you or anything, but this is one of the most raved about blushes today! :)

LUSH Face Masks

lushLush must be one of the “freshest” brands in the world. It’s simply because they offer handmade cosmetics and skin care! They’re actually quite famous for their bath bombs, massage bars, and shampoo bars, and sell worldwide. Yes, they have over 100 stores worldwide, and still they choose to produce such fragrant, and healthy treats for the body, the natural way! Lush has also been rumored to be “Hollywood’s secret to beautiful and youthful skin. ” Woah!

Chancing upon their UK homepage, wow, I was simply amazed, and I fell for these treats. I want, I want! Their face masks are so yummy looking! And the reviews look so promising! In fact, I’ve never heard a single negative remark from this brand, that I’m rushing to the mall this weekend to check out their products.

Frizzy Hair, Go Away!

frizzy hair Perhaps having frizzy hair is the most common complaint I’ve heard from girls. I mean hello, the moment hair relaxing, rebonding, or straightening procedures were born, gosh, the salons have been simply been swarmed with clients! ( whoopee for the salons! )

The main trick to preventing frizzy hair from occuring is closing down the outer layer of the hair strand, which is the cuticle. It’s simply called “cooling”. Remember for the face, warm water is used to open pores, and cold water to close pores? This also works the same way. Think, think think.

So, follow these steps, and help tame , and prevent the frizz!

Mineral Makeup Review- Pure Luxe Cosmetics

pure luxe

photo from pureluxecosmetics.com

As a followup on my previous entry about Mineral Makeup, I am again, professing my love for mineral makeup. It’s been six months, and I’m still so much smitten with it! I finally said goodbye to conventional foundations, and switched to mineral makeup. I don’t know, I just feel my skin really, really flawless with it, and mineral makeup concealer is to die for. It simply covers blemishes like a dream. Like you never had that blemish in the first place. The finishing is just star-rific.

In other words, I am more confident going out, with mineral makeup on. I have received tons of compliments that my skin looked so much better right now with the no-makeup look, and I was wearing mineral makeup that time! Haha! :) Continue reading

Naked Juice Bar Will Make The World Beautiful!

naked juice bar I’ve babbled endlessly about cosmetics, and a strict skin care regimen to attain the most beautiful skin. But still, nothing beats an “internal” skin regimen. Internal? Yes, the one you ingest! It’s a must for everyone who seeks to be beautiful to eat and drink healthy. And Naked Juice Bar, this trendy-looking stall that I’ve found on the SM Mall of Asia ( a huge mall, I must say ), offers such luscious treats that give exhilarating bliss not only to the tastebuds, but to the skin and body as well.

Aromatherapy for Blissful Sleep!

sleep Sleep is an integral part of having beautiful, healthy skin. Not only is it the world’s favorite pastime because it feels impossibly refreshing the morning after, sleep also repairs the “wear and tear” of the body, and our minds are well-rested too.

Speaking of skin, yes, the effects are evident. Compare someone who sleeps eight hours versus a woman who has had hardly any sleep. Differences? Sleep girl has fresh, soft, smooth, and hydrated skin, and No-Sleep girl has nasty undereye circles, dilated pores, sometimes puffy eyes, and some really unhealthy complexion - stressed skin. Now, who would want that? I guess no one would. But sometimes, people are just so stressed that they can’t even sleep. So, to facilitate sleep, and “set the mood” for sleep, aromatherapy products, specifically lavender-based, a sleep inducer, really paves way for a blissful sleep.

Aromatherapy products aren’t the conventional ones anymore wherein you risk your house getting burned with all those burning and stuff. Cosmetic companies have formulated lavender in their products not only to serve their basic purpose ( cleanse, moisturize ), but also further soothe, and calm the senses.

Pick of the Week : Seikisho cleansing Oil

If you’re looking for that great alternative to THE popular cleansing oil, then Seikisho Cleansing Oil would definitely give you great results without splurging too much.

Get the same effect, with a lower price tag. How cool can that be? A perfect substitute, as economists say.

Japanese skin care brand Kose has come up with this impressive makeup remover that draws out impurities, removes makeup, without the drying effects.

Unique oriental ingredients include Pigeon Wheat Essence, Sunflower Oil, and Apricot Seed Oil Extract. Unlike other cleansing oils, they don’t dry up the skin. Skin is smoother, softer, and more radiant !

Overall, I love using this to remove my makeup.

The Wonders of Makeover - Katharine McPhee !

katharine mcphee As an avid watcher of American Idol that I am, here is my girl version of my previous entry, The Wonders of Makeover! - Clay Aiken. Whom am I choosing for my girlie version? None other than the McPheever, dazzling Katharine McPhee.

Why? Well, I was about to choose Kelly Clarkson, who has had a drastic improvement as well, but I like her with natural makeup more. That’s another entry! haha :)

You might wonder why I picked Katharine McPhee. Well, she is pretty to start with, but her face, was pretty bare when she first auditioned for American Idol. I am further pointing out the wonders of makeup, in this particular entry. Continue reading

Tinted Moisturizers

For years I have relied heavily on foundations that give medium to heavy coverage, until I saw the light- light coverage that is! There is a dual product that moisturizes your skin, gives a very light coverage, and even adds a bonus of SPF ( shouldn’t that be three? ) Well, it’s the tinted moisturizers, ladies.

Who wouldn’t want a product that feels light on the skin as compared to heavy powders, and liquid foundations? I mean, they are staples in the makeup kit, but there really are days when you feel that your skin deserves a good rest.
