My guest blogger for today would be my very good friend and partner-in-makeup addiction Anya. We are so into makeup that we just love exchanging tips and new product discoveries that I think that she is my soulmate in the name of vanity. Gosh, there is such a thing like that!
Well, here goes! Hope you enjoy her fearless review of these blushes:
I have always been on the lookout for great blush. Being fair-skinned and somewhat pale, a hint of color would be beneficial to my bare canvass of a face, and I need all the color I can get. I have tried and tested four great brands, namely Nars, Shu Uemura, Laura Mercier and Cargo, and this is my take on each of these blushes :
NARS Matahari
“I love the bright pink shade.”
I find NARS good. It is very pigmeneted, and I love the matte pink shade. A few swipes, and you’re ready to go. The color lasts all day, and the color compliments my skin. Overall, I like NARS Matahari because I can use it for everyday, and I just love the bright pink shade. It perks up my complexion and makes me look girly.

Laura Mercier Cheek Colour in Azalea
” I found the shade boring.”
I find Laura Mercier blushes of great quality because they’re very pigmented, and lasts all day too. My only problem with this blush is that the color didn’t match my skin, nor did it rouse my interest. In my personal opinion, the shade was boring berry. The shade was so monotonous, that I was looking for something more peachy. This might look great on someone else, but I was sure that it wasn’t for me.
Cargo The Big Easy
Gorgeous color, but isn’t as pigmented.
The Big Easy is just a beautiful shade of peachy-pink with subtle shimmer, I love it. My only problem with this is that it doesn’t last long on my skin. Compared to the other three blushes included in my review, I had to swipe a few more times with The Big Easy to get more color on my cheeks.
Shu Uemura Glow On Blush P Red 14
“Wonderful!”
This is the blush that just gives me the naturally flushed look. It is a bit tricky to apply because it is, after all, a dangerous shade of red. It is really pigmented so one swipe is all you need! When applied lightly, I could still get away with looking good with this! I have to practice more on applying red blushes. The pigment is amazing, the staying power is impressive, too!
Overall, my favorite has got to be the Shu Uemura Glow On Blush because of its amazing staying power and the prettiest natural color I’ve ever tried. I’m also giving my thumbs up to NARS blushes for their wonderful color selections, as well as the staying power. I’m giving Laura Mercier the benefit of the doubt, that it might have other gorgeous shades that I didn’t catch, and for Cargo, well, I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t as pigmented as I was expecting, but it’s not stopping me from using it because of its gorgeous shade!
Anya
From the Beautynomist : Talk about blushes! I have been faithful to my Nars blushes for some time now, but it doesn’t last all throughout the day, still. I’m somewhat blaming my oily skin. Maybe I should upgrade to Shu Uemura soon because of the “pigmented” blush that Anya tells us. Imagine, Anya has normal skin, and I have oily skin! I need something that would last, since I would love, as much as possible, to avoid reapplying blush. Well, there you go! I hope her review of the big four helped !
How about you, what’s your favorite blush?
Tata for now!
