Blush Review : Laura Mercier, Shu Uemura, Nars and Cargo

My guest blogger for today would be my very good friend and partner-in-makeup addiction Anya. We are so into makeup that we just love exchanging tips and new product discoveries that I think that she is my soulmate in the name of vanity. Gosh, there is such a thing like that!
Well, here goes! Hope you enjoy her fearless review of these blushes:

I have always been on the lookout for great blush. Being fair-skinned and somewhat pale, a hint of color would be beneficial to my bare canvass of a face, and I need all the color I can get. I have tried and tested four great brands, namely Nars, Shu Uemura, Laura Mercier and Cargo, and this is my take on each of these blushes :

nars matahariNARS Matahari
“I love the bright pink shade.”

I find NARS good. It is very pigmeneted, and I love the matte pink shade. A few swipes, and you’re ready to go. The color lasts all day, and the color compliments my skin. Overall, I like NARS Matahari because I can use it for everyday, and I just love the bright pink shade. It perks up my complexion and makes me look girly.

Beautynomics Special : Miss Universe 2006

miss universe

This year’s Miss Universe has created alot of buzz. Who should have won, who looked fab in that gown, who had the “spunk”, and a whole lot more.

Before the buzz dies, and things go back to the way they were, here’s my last shoutout for Miss Universe 2006.

Pick of the Week : Anastasia Brow Kit

My pick of the week is Anastasia Beverly Hills All About Brows Kit.

Hailed as Hollywood’s “brow guru”, and having groomed and shaped brows for Hollywood’s A-list, Anastasia Soare sure knows how to shape the perfect brow. She is famous for the “Anastasia arch”, that is being sported by various Hollywood celebrities. Anastasia Soare believes that eyebrows can instantly change someone’s “look”, and clean brows can make you look younger, better, and given a more brighter complexion.

Her salon in Hollywood is the mecca for the perfectly arched brow, and it has a 5-month waiting list. Boy, my brows would have been junglelicious by then. Sephora and Anastasia Soare have teamed up to have a brow grooming studio at select Sephora stores, and an appointment/brow grooming session costs about $32 there.

Creating the Perfect Base for the Perfect Makeup Look : Primer

To be honest, I’ve only heard of the term “primer”, like, a year ago. I was whining to my friend that my makeup never stayed for more than three hours since I haven’t found the “perfect foundation” for oily skin. And she said one word. Primer. Like the dazzling speed of light, Googled the term primer , devoured the information, and rushed to the mall to go and get one!!!

That marked to be my best year for I discovered “the primer.” Now, I am spreading the word! Here goes….

Know Your Skin Tone : Are You Warm, or Cool ?

color Knowing your skin tone is one of the most imporant things to know because your life depends on it. I mean, if you would always want to look fabulous, you have to know this fundamental law of beauty and fashion. It’s got nothing to do if you’re a “warm” wicked woman or a “cool” chick. It’s simply sticking to your natural skin tone, and making the most out of it by sticking to the shades that you’d look great in! Otherwise, it’s simply a death toll for you. You would NOT want to underutilize your natural beauty, right?

Sonia Kashuk Travel-Size Makeup Brushes

sonia kashuk makeup brush

Picking out professional makeup brushes for your train case is a whole different story than picking out your travel-size makeup brushes to bring along with you as travel.

I mean, let’s face it, travel sized brushes will never be as good as the regular-sized ones. The features “minimize” as the sizes shrink! Continue reading
